Absolutely agree that Ancelottis spending alone didnt break it, but his buys was not a sustainable long-term solution without immediate success on the field and added to years of "debt" after reckless spending. It was a good attempt at an immediate fix which didnt quite pay off.We had one of the best managers in world football and gave him less money than Koeman and Silva due to poor planning and recruitment. Him signing Allan and James (who we offloaded after 1 season) didn't break what was already broken IMO.
Regrettably, we dont generate enough money so we need to avoid losing money on player sales, just like the Brightons and Brentfords (Sad, but true due to years of incompetency).
Ancelotti would be a great fit with new stadium and a that will hopefully give us a base where we can mix it up the transfer strategy a bit more.
