If he turns us down, the media will have a field day

….If I was his Dad, I’d say exactly the same thing but it is a great opportunity for him to not only join a high profile league but to get game time. A guaranteed £1m+ signing fee plus a huge salary increase sets him up for life financially. A struggling team with a great fan base, he can make a difference.

if there are no other offers on the table I’d be surprised if he doesn’t grasp this chance.

it’s the type of player we should be targeting but I will only give credit to Thelwell if he turns out to be good.

Am sure we made all the same concessions to El Bilal...What troubles me at the minute is just a quick Google search from the player will bring up negative story, after negative story about the club as a whole.

So much damage has been done over the past 18 months, I worry its scaring players off and especially young and up and coming prospects, who'll rightly want to move a club where they feel can progress in the right environment.

He'd be insane to pass this opportunity up. What an amazing 2023 it would be for him to break into their squad...team and then get a premier league move.

El Bilal was quite well known to the club having been scouted 18months+ and strong links last summer.

Also good stats in both France and Spain...while this kid has 6months experience and comes from "the talent factory" of Sporting Lisbon.

Different fees, wages on offer and expectations.

Id be amazed if he didnt see this as a massive opportunity.

Moyes went to London for the work permit application
Under duress? Banega was a top player at the time, although he had some off field issues. It was reported here that Moyse had said he was taking him on loan to "take a look at him" Banega's ego wasn't having that. And although his off field issues carried on he was the top quality midfielder that Moyse should have been pulling up trees to sign.

I think his dad probably knows his mental makeup better than most.

Will he relish the challenge here or be affected by the pressure.

Will he be able to switch off from the sighs and angst of the crowd when he misplace a pass and push through it.

The money is great but I know my kid of a similar age would likely suffer mentally if they were exposed to Everton.

No amount of money would change my opinion on that.

….weird how posters think only Everton fans moan at a misplaced pass. Believe me, if he’s that fragile then Football isn’t for him.

The Academy clips indicate to me that he has a bit about him. He could stay playing for Lisbon reserves in empty stadiums or he can seize an opportunity. He’s come through the ranks, he’ll be ambitious.

I’ve been singing this lads praises for the past 3 years. His goal scoring record speaks for itself: Four goals since 2021 is a fantastic strike rate and I can’t wait to see him make it 5 goals by May.
