….If I was his Dad, I’d say exactly the same thing but it is a great opportunity for him to not only join a high profile league but to get game time. A guaranteed £1m+ signing fee plus a huge salary increase sets him up for life financially. A struggling team with a great fan base, he can make a difference.

if there are no other offers on the table I’d be surprised if he doesn’t grasp this chance.

it’s the type of player we should be targeting but I will only give credit to Thelwell if he turns out to be good.

If I was his dad I'd be scratching my head wondering what an Everton is.

….weird how posters think only Everton fans moan at a misplaced pass. Believe me, if he’s that fragile then Football isn’t for him.

The Academy clips indicate to me that he has a bit about him. He could stay playing for Lisbon reserves in empty stadiums or he can seize an opportunity. He’s come through the ranks, he’ll be ambitious.
I dont think it's just Evertonians that moan. With all the [Poor language removed] we've out up with over the last two campaigns I'd say we are more emotional and stressed than many others in the PL. That's all.

Now if we had another striker in and he could get minutes coming off the bench that's one thing. If he is expected to be our main striker when DCL is crocked that's different.

Hopefully he has the mettle for it, wants it and comes here.

They were, but if one thing is for sure we've proven we never learn from mistakes.
I think Onana was a pretty good signing. Tarkowski on a free was pretty good too. I think Garner will prove to be a good signing, even Coady on loan was good.

I think we have proven that we can learn from mistakes. Obviously players like Maupay prove we can still make them, but I think last summer showed that perhaps we have learned from mistakes

Bang up for this on the basis we manage to get rid of Maupay, send Cannon on a loan and get in a more experienced CF on loan or on cheap.

Going in with DCL and Chermiti, regardless of Danjuma being able to fill in, leaves us exposed. Danjuma needs to play wide, particularly with McNeil injury and the impending departure of Gray.

Would still need a CB and a CM IMO

Everything said firmly tongue in cheek.
You're correct too regarding signings, as much stick as he gets I think Thelwell is going about business relatively OK.
We're starting to build up a core of very good young players and if we can add this guy to that we've done OK.

Cahill, Coleman, Lukaku, Pienaar, Baines etc are all more recent than those two. We seem to have a long history of getting it right too 🤷‍♂️
Like all clubs we have success but those two stand out as Muller did his press interview then when finding out his wage was before tax and not after he bolted. Ravanelli was shown around Goodison before deciding Middlesbrough was a more attractive town.😱 Then there was Nigel Martyn, kept hanging around Johnson's Xmas hamper offices for allegedly an hour, then given the directions to drive to Leeds.

And not forgetting Manny Fernandes too. I'm sure pretty much every club has stories like those though, we just remember the Everton ones
