I think his dad probably knows his mental makeup better than most.

Will he relish the challenge here or be affected by the pressure.

Will he be able to switch off from the sighs and angst of the crowd when he misplace a pass and push through it.

The money is great but I know my kid of a similar age would likely suffer mentally if they were exposed to Everton.

No amount of money would change my opinion on that.

Sporting fans are well known to be highly demanding and unpleasant when things arent going their way.

Everton would be a walk in the park in comparison.

I don't know why some are doubting his pedigree
We have had the choice of signing from thousands of players. We have been scouting him for years. We have volumes of material analysing his strengths and weaknesses. We have spent years watching him
And now we are making our move.
We are Everton.
We do things the Everton way.
No need to question our deep analysis.
We have appeared like a stealth missile to capture him
We have a proven track record of identifying and snaring the best
This reminds me of Cattericks cloak and dagger raid to sign Bally
What could possibly go wrong?

Risky punt imo. 19, new country, little top flight experience. Although he may be one for the future. In that case they need an up and running striker to hit the ground and score goals. Just my opinion. But I once thought Alan Biley was a world beater so ya know…

Just as well those who do have strong club links like Joyce, Boyland all think we want an experienced striker as well then!

If we can get Chermiti over the line (big if) we get a 19 year old with half a season in Sporting’s first team including Europa League games. He is a developmental player we can ease in off the bench. At best his size and decent speed fit better into Dyche press/counter than Sporting’s slower, more technical style and we get early impact. At worst he will have value in Europe if he struggles just like Vlasic, Kean did.

It feels like the right kind of risk to take.
