The goalpost moving from your board is the worst of it for me. If (and obviously, I'm not party to such info) he had been told he could move if a club met their valuation of him then he's every right to take the hump when they up the ante.
The fact is we don't know what was said. I have heard (recently) that we agreed that he was told that we wouldn't stand in his way if a club in the CL came in for him with appropriate bid. Wilf is well liked by everyone at the club, has been an excellent professional who has worked hard to improve since he came to us when he was 8.
Plus he's a Sarf Lunnen boy, one of our own.
I'm genuinely torn because he deserves to win things and sadly that's more likely elsewhere.
But, agreed, if the goal posts have been moved, we have been less than honourable.

Did we miss out on Malcom and Neres? I’m sure there were no official bids for these players. If we were that interested in them we would have bid a while ago and not lump all our eggs into the Zaha basket

Well we didn't bid no but I think it's fair to say there was an interest and I'm not sure we could convince either to come.

I've seen Neres quoted at £55 million pounds, and there is also every chance Brands feels for an additional £15 million he gets a player who have proven himself in the league. Lots of possibilities. I sense we didn't land our primary targets though and Zaha was a secondary choice.

What's this "you can leave if a big bid" thing all about?

Is this actually true?
It seems to be generally accepted that it is true. I have no knowledge of the facts either way. The problem, it seems to me, is the various parties understanding of what was actually intended.

I'm not that fussed either way, but contrary to what the Mail are saying I'd be amazed if we didn't sign him now.

They're saying he'll "move abroad" - but there's a very, very limited amount of clubs who will pay £70m+ for him outside of England.

With his next tweet after that even more silly, seen some reports about 20mins ago saying 50mil and tosun turned down, but doubt that was right

Saw that, his next tweet is him saying "Im not messing around!"

Alright, then why are you posting somebody's name and cartoon eyes and passing it off as knowing something?

Twitter is humanity at its worst.

Why would it matter to Palace whether the buying side played in Europe? Makes no sense. All they'd care about is the money, not the future prospect of the player. It's a business.
