2023/24 Sean Dyche

He’s been here long enough to see it’s not working. The home results are so bad. An average manager would have a better record than he’s produced.

He’s losing games we should be winning.

The interviews are tedious, repeating the same old lines and blaming the history of the club for underperformance - failing to recognise that’s his job to turn it around.

I hope they are making moves to replace him regardless of the Bournemouth result.

Well this is always the problem with the club. I'd be more on board with sacking Dyche if I had any confidence that there was a proper recruitment plan in place always keeping tabs on decent managers we could bring in. But we all know that there isn't.

Time for me to come down off the fence and declare that if we don't get three points against Bournemouth then just bin him.
That set up on Saturday was dreadful. Nobody on here in their right mind when he was at Burnley would have envisaged seeing him on the touchline managing us.
He's just not doing it for us and needs to go.
For those that say we're just rinsing and repeating past mistakes I say we've nothing to lose as with him in charge we're fecked anyway.

Be amazed if he’s sacked two bad results after beating Villa and Brentford in a week tbh, be given 18 games at least imo. Rightly so.

Caveat to that is you usually get sacked on the back a poor run. Lampard got 34 points in in his first 30 league games. Not great I know. dyche has 25 in 25 So 3 wins in His next 5 just to match lampard, who wasn’t good enough

Agree with what you said here!

Dyche has the ability to pull the wool over peoples eyes in light of a bad run, plus draws tend to help paper over cracks sometimes too!

Before Brighton last season we hadn't won in 7, before the Bournemouth game was 1 win in 10!

Likewise this season, before the Brentford game it was no wins in 5! He has this talent of magically pulling out a top performance just as the vultures begin to circle!

Dyche has only won 3 of his last 18 league games (almost half a season, 15 points in total) and you don't hear anyone reporting the poor job he has done!

I'd imagine we end up doing Bournemouth 3 or 4-0 as the pressure he has put on after the Luton game will be high! That will but him another 4 or 5 games after that!

I welcome any points that we win.
I hate points we lose through trying to be too smart. Why mess around with the formation and style when winning those games. That team selection on Saturday was crazy. Our home form ffs against teams, even Arsenal, we should be winning some points against.
As for 18 games, that's a no no.

Been mentioned for a while now the goals conceded is the worry. One thing I expected from Dyche was to make us difficult to score against. Nothing of the sort just as bad as previous seasons. The back line has been awful for seasons be it structurally or individual mistakes. That's the detail I was hoping that would be sorted. Until that story changes we will be in relegation fights

This is it. The team is creating plenty of chances. We don't have the best finishers in most spots, we're not going to score more than one or two goals most matches.

But the set pieces and the defensive lapses are what kills us, two things that he has excelled in his previous job.

Two goals conceded at home to Luton Town is absurd.

He's clearly got us set up a lot more openly to get people forward and create chances. And we have been creating more than the opposition in most games. There's just no clinical ruthlessness to this team.

His other way of playing is what we saw in the arsenal game. And that's awful.

It would be nice if he found a balance between the two but I'm not sure he ever will ..
You say we are creating chances!
Apart from maybe 1 or 2 proper chances (Doucoure v Fulham, Dom v Brentford) when have we actually created genuine good chances for the forwards? Our XG is mainly so high due to the throw it in there quick and fast routine while its pinging around!

For example the Onana/Doucoure/Dom effort on Saturday that led to our goal totalled in an XG of 1.79!

Creating chaos is not really creating chances
