Bit jaded by the state of things at the moment - hooligans, Everton's on field performances in the past two seasons etc. Need to be convinced that there's still love between fan and club.. I guess I'm suffering from a surfeit of cynicism at the moment. Of course I hope this will be a great relationship and hope Ron will be a great success for us.

The most encouraging thing about the whole episode is the ambition and ruthlessness of this pursuit.

But more money to spend, higher wages, more control over the team (DOF to manage business affairs), possibly new stadium, bigger name in terms of football.
If all goes well this is a massive difference between a season in europa and a bit of ambition.
Cheer up Chuck. Moyes was not all bad. Throw in a bit more ambition and money then who knows. Can't wait to see a good defence again. Martinez made me puke with his relegation tactics and crass stupidity. I am sure his system might work for a particular group if players but they were not the ones in our squad. Here's to defending!

Totally agree, we weren't giving him £6m a year either.
We should have went for an unemployed, free Moyes, instead we went for an overpriced Dutch one.
Except Moyes had not indicated he was going to pledge his future to us at that point. He has been here ages so fair enough. We were all a bit bored with him as well. Koeman has just kicked his employer and I dont blame them for not lauding him from the rooftops.

Think the Dutch one may have more pull when it comes to signings and spotting talent. Not saying Moyes was not good but Southampton stunning under the circumstances last two years. I prefer this one I think, he does not seem to do humble.
