Yes but Lakaku love the ball playing down the sides or over the top - we had to do this for Lineker he was not a bad player was he?
I can't really comment on Lineker due to age, but to me, quality players should be able to perform in any conditions.

I'm sure every striker would love to stand around and wait for chances to be put on a plate for them, but unfortunately it's not that easy.

Maybe I'm on my own,but there are similarities with Lukaku with regards to Lineker,for all his forty goals in his one season,I still think we'd have strolled the league with Andy Gray(who left to accomodate him)or Inchy up front,remember we won it the year after when he'd gone to Barca,we changed our style that season and were slightly more direct to suit him running onto the ball behind defenders.:)

The pace and goals of Lineker were marvellous to behold, but ultimately we came second twice when we could and should have had a double.
