Everton have shown an interest in Sheffield United teenager David Brooks and are considering a bid for the midfielder during this transfer window.
Brooks was named Player of the Tournament in the Toulon Tournament, scoring in the final for winners England after switching allegiances from Wales.
Sheffield United had been set to allow 19-year-old Brooks to join Chesterfield on loan as part of the deal that saw the club re-sign striker Ched Evans.
But the Blades pulled the plug on a deal for Brooks to move to Chesterfield at the last minute, following interest from clubs higher up the Leagues – including Everton.
Brooks is yet to make a League start for Sheffield United, having joined the club from Manchester City’s Academy in 2014. The following year he spent two months on loan at Halifax Town, making five appearances and scoring one goal.

Well if Lukaku moves on he will be replaced, same for any player we sell from now.
The squad is very, very thin, it needs bolstering numbers wise, despite everybodys desire, we wont be signing 20 top class players this window.

Hakan Calhangolu looks like he's headed to AC Milan. Thought he'd be a bargain at the #10 and give us a lot of what Sigurdsson would give us for less the price and more the upside.
I'd love 25M+26M for Keane and Lemos, but that's a high price tag for Lemos even with his upside. Llorente is talented and probably will cost half that. But both Keane and Lemos have a chance to be truly elite. But selling the deadwood would pay for it.
Man, we keep Rom, sign Sigurdsson, maybe someone else with pace to play out right that's young and talented, we'd be a pretty dangerous side. Would love to keep Ross, but you put Lemos/Keane/Pickford in the back, Gana/Davies/Schneiderlin in the DCM spots, the central defense has suddenly gotten a heck of a lot more talented.
