Just accept that most PL managers have more experience than Frank bar Stevie G. And he's about to lose his job. We're all saying 'Lampard had a vision' but basing it on no tangible history. It would be a lot easier to get behind Lampard if we had seen what he had done at other clubs in the past.

What on Earth has any of this paragraph got to do with what I wrote

I think things are little more volatile then we think - i read a bit into that comment that he made.

My take is we absolutely have to stick with him, i think the man has a vision and he is making proper footballing signings to enable it, the lack of a striker is scuppering us. But another total reboot just scuppers us - another manager comes in doesnt fancy McNeill, shifts Iwobo out the wing etc. Be a disater, again.

We have to accept Frank is developing, i think hes set up a bit naively at times, i think he has to be a bit more risk averse in terms of games management. We strike me a bit like Leicester under Rodgers a bit boom and bust as a best case scenario if we get a striker, he was a bit like that at Chelsea to- he can go the other way as we saw at the back end of the season - he needs to find the balance.
I think Pickford should a way forward yesterday Route 1 works occasionally

Were defo being primed for Nuno

Not sure on Nuno mate I imagine Thelwell will have a wide range of good young up and coming managers from his time with the RB franchise.

Yes Lampard needs a CF but he struggles with understanding this formation and I think that'll be his undoing long term - a manager who specialises in 3 at the back plays Vinagre over Myko for example.

Yes the main issue is up top however Nott Forest had a few chances to slice through us in which if they had better attacking players like Villa for example they likely would have done.

That suggests to me that the manager isn't getting to grips fully with the system / how to transition effectively enough from defence to attack and vice versa.

Be interesting to see what Big Kev Thelwell does long term if results dont come in.

The way he removed Unsworth and also instruct on Lampard to play 3 at the back is ruthless and shows he likes having control of the club.

Compare that to Brands who meekly sat by and let anarchy go on including managers playing different formations etc.

The first sign of a winnless run and I think he'll pull the trigger and use the opportunity to bring his own manager in who specialises in 3 at the back.
Hang on, what’s this? Thelwell hires our managers?

Its actually been quite successful, especially the back end of last season.

I was annoyed with Pickford yesterday though, thought he could have done better with where he placed the rebound for the goal - he will be annoyed by himself to i think, but when you play three at the back there will be those gaps in the second phase. But i wont slag him he kept us up last season.

We've had too many managers over the last what 7/8 years we need consistency and longevity. We must give lampard and thelwell time to get it right. Knee jerk reactions like ones I keep reading on here are the wrong way to go. Have faith in him as a manager and get behind him to do his job. This team isn't getting fixed in one transfer window especially with our financial constraints anybody who thinks it was is living in cloud cuckoo land. Personally I think you can see an improvement in the team from what we were seeing last season and with the right recruitment we'll improve further and be nowhere near relegation come next may.

Thelwell might be the one to encourage the board to get rid of him though

A managerial change is not the answer

Get some forwards in who can actually pass a ball and out their foot through a shot. Nothing wrong with the tactical set up at the weekend whatsoever. We limited them to speculative shots from distance, and we made multiple chances. Job done from the formation and tactical perspective.

What Lampard can’t account for is stupid shoddy sloppy half arsed forward play from Gordon Gray McNeill Davies. That’s two games in a row McNeil has botched simple through balls to play a teammate in. He never looked that hesitant banging them in against us every game. The biggest shock of Gray scoring was that he hadn’t yahood it over the bar like he did every other chance. Gordon just can’t strike a ball hard enough. Davies is an utter clown who looked like a competition winner out there.

Put Havertz Mount Sterling there or Kane Son Kulisevski and we’re probably 7 points out of 9 at least.

We have to move away from just blasting the manager all the time. He hasn’t got suitable tools for the job. Once again Davies is starting games. There was one attacking player on the bench in McNeill (if we accept Dele was never coming on). It’s just not good enough.

It’s all moot. Lampard won’t resign as it’s not in his personality to quit AND he wouldn’t get his payoff if he walks.

We won’t sack him either as we simply don’t have the cash flow to keep paying off crap managers.

This club is in a state from top to bottom. The sooner we get into the new stadium the better as it will be a fresh start. Goodison just has bad memories now - the glory days were so long ago that youngsters today wouldn’t believe we’ve ever won league titles if you told them.

We’re no different to Forest or Villa. We wouldn’t look out of place as a yo yo Championship / lower Premier League club.

Sick of seeing our fans “But but we’re bigger than you.”

No. Big clubs don’t behave like Everton do.

He's the one picking them every week and training them. Are you saying he has no influence over the way they play? Isn't a manager supposed to improve and develop players?
