No Zat...we sold Stones because he wanted to leave two seasons on the bounce and we've replace him with players who are in the prime of their careers.
Williams is a better defender than Stones today...that is a fact.
1. We cashed in on a player who wanted out.
2. Improved the goal keeping position
3. Signed a much better defensive player than the one we had.
4. Signed a player that scared the crap out of me every time he played us
5. Signing of the season
6. A meh signing...but probably better than...
He also could potentially never live up to that potential.
We've improved our defense by cashing in on him. He's got a long way to go on the most important aspect of his game...which is defending.
He might end up reaching his potential, and I hope he does, but he clearly wanted out and even...
Disappointed sure, but gutted though? Over a transfer window that has seen us improve the team?
Sure we didn't get the 'big name' signings, but at the end of the day the team is better today than it was at the beginning of the window.
