But 'those' type of players are required in any side. The players that do the donkey work and give it to the more creative players to express themselves.
Have you not been impressed since schnerderlin came into the team? In those 10 games we've only lost away to Spurs and during this period the team has produced their best football and results of the season. Of course this isn't all down to Morgan, but it is more than a coincidence that we've hit...
Agreed, every player need to be 100% fitness wise. They say the speed of premier league football is quick, but the intensity in a derby goes up another notch.
You can't argue truth jose's opinion that felliani offers more of a goal threat then Morgan. However what also can't be denied is that Morgan is a better team player, more disciplined and allows others around him to play. Just look at the freedom afforded to Ross with Morgan behind him. IMO...
As poor as he was last week (as were the majority of the team to be fair) he was as good this week. Think of our midfield pre Xmas without Morgan in it and compare it to now. I'm a lot happier with Morgan in the team then without him.
It's the first average game the lad has had. Should we judge gana and Davies likewise, as they were just as ineffective as Morgan. Come to think of it the whole team and manager was ineffective on the day. (Bar Ross Barkley).
Kopite mate of mine said the same thing. Oh how he'd loved schnerderlin to replace Henderson. But no way would Jose play ball with the RS anyway. He is their loss and very much our gain.
The lad has played 11mins premier league football prior to signing for us. I take the 4 games as a compliment, just imagine how good he will look in another 2 games. Pros normally say it takes about half a dozen games to get up to full fitness.
To think our best midfielder (and arguably player of the season) Gana was sat on the bench, I anticipate our ranking of 4th best press in the league (Koeman wants better) will be even better. Imagine trying to play through Davies, Gana and schnerderlin!!!
Couldn't agree more. To me is was the heir apparent to carrick. Could dictate the game from a deep lying defensive midfielder or if pushed further forward from his astute passing. Speaking to a few united fans round here when he joined us, many were disappointed he wasn't given more of a chance...
