£40m Bid Made For Sigurdsson

he's basically costing us that because he signed a new contract last August.

for a lad about to turn 28, I think we're paying too much
A kopite told me that there is a story running in the German press that the RS have now bid 83m euros for keita, whose had one decent season in the bundesliga. It makes the 90m for lukaku almost seem like a bargain. As clubs get to the end of the window, they will start getting more and more desperate, the 20m for McCarthy at the beginning if the window, will be 30m come the end of the window. What price would Keane be now? 40m.

At the end of the day facts are this
Mosh sold Koeman a project and told him he'd back him
Mosh will do whatever he and the club can to keep those promises.
If Koeman wants Siggy and feels he's crucial the club will pay up.
If Koeman says he wants a striker and a CB the club will get them

Don't talk sense mate people hate it! Tbh I'm getting bored of people moaning we are actually spending big money have they all been asleep for over 17 years? Longer Infact? its driving me mad it's like they're never happy

It's new teritory and we aren't used to it. Still have a spendthrift mindset and will take time to change.

It's not we're never happy. I'd love siguardsson at the club as much as anyone and have maintained that stance since we were first linked. However I really think the club is being taken for a ride, paying 50m for a player who will turn 28 next month, sets a dangerous precedent, in our future transfer policy, that clubs can ask absurd prices and we will meekly go along with it.

I've said it before, we have to walk away at this point. If we bend over and just pay whatever they want we will find it so difficult to negotiate with other clubs in the future.

We willlook like mugs.

We need to show strength, walk away and throw the 45 mill on a Renato Sanchez or someone who's worth that kind of coin.

sorry but i can't get my head around this thinking.

How will we look like mugs. Every single one of our main targets we've gone after and bought. Look at united with about 4/5 players, the RS with keita and van dijk, chelsea with lukaku. They've all missed/are missing out on their top targets and are settling for their backup options, that to me is being classed as mugs. We're making a statement by saying that we don't care if we're being taken for a ride, we're going out and landing our first choice targets. The same way as man city are.

How can you think showing strength is termed as "accepting swansea have won the battle and walking away and then deciding to pay the very same amount for a backup option, one who is nowhere near potential, has flopped at his current gaff, has never player in the premier league and is still a raw youngster?"

I'd cry if we spent all that money on him, he's done nothing deserving of the hype so far imo, a couple of good performances here and there and you want to throw £45m at that? Hmm. I think we'd look like right mugs seeing our number 1 target turn out for swansea whilst we wait about 4 or 5 years to see if our purchase actually works out.

It's called FOOTBALL. If you want to swap the days of scraping around for a loan than to how far we've come then you need to give your head a wobble

let's be honest, if we compare it to the signings of walker and mendy, it's a very very good deal. If we compare it to hundreds of others, it's not a good deal. Yeah i wouldn't have gone this high, but i'm happy this new everton is not settling for second best and just walking away from everything. Man city didn't win the prem by doing that.

I'm feed up with this Sigurdsson saga. He is, not worth 45 million. Let's move on, there should be other targets in Germany and Spain
