let's be honest, if we compare it to the signings of walker and mendy, it's a very very good deal. If we compare it to hundreds of others, it's not a good deal. Yeah i wouldn't have gone this high, but i'm happy this new everton is not settling for second best and just walking away from everything. Man city didn't win the prem by doing that.

So ok if it was 45 mill but now it's 50 are you telling me people are moaning over an extra 5 mill for getting the player we want? The player the manager wants and a player that wants in? - Christ I need to go for a run. This forum at times drives me mad

£18m for 29 yr old Hernandez at £140,000 p/w.

To be a footballer in 2017....

Hypocrites the lot of you, if The RS overspend who have far more resources than us then then it's "omg they are jokes, been bent over, taken for a ride"

If we do it then who cares if Koeman gets his man.

It's not we're never happy. I'd love siguardsson at the club as much as anyone and have maintained that stance since we were first linked. However I really think the club is being taken for a ride, paying 50m for a player who will turn 28 next month, sets a dangerous precedent, in our future transfer policy, that clubs can ask absurd prices and we will meekly go along with it.

That's not how things work. This is basic supply and demand where we want a creative midfielder at peak-age with experience of this league and there are basically no alternatives out there so the supply is low, now we could punt elsewhere but we'd be as likely to end up with a Memphis Depay as a David Silva and that's clearly not what we're looking for.

Clubs can ask for anything but they only get it if there's a market.

Hypocrites are you kidding me? I'm made up we are spending big money made up. So should you be and all the bed wetters

Dude, for the 100th time, Koeman is the manager, Walsh is the Director of Football. Koeman does not offer or sign players. This isn't that complicated.

I think the price is nuts, but still waiting for someone to name a better player for our money. Someone that would make our starting lineup better. We are obviously going to buy a striker. We are going to buy another defender. But Koeman wants a play maker.

Brokovic could be had for probably 20M, Jonahthan Viera for 30, Mahrez for same price as Gyfil, Andre Silvia for 30M, etc. Don't think any of them are as good as Siggy. But it could allow us to buy a better Striker or CB.
Throw £40mil for Fosberg and see what happens.

I agree. Whenever big money gets spent it's a risk. But you have to speculate to accumulate.
Ask City fans are they bothered about the dough spent on Robinho???Got to break a few eggs to make omelette, listen all transfers are a gamble, players can break their legs and its game over.

i believe we're spending what we think we can afford so just go with it.

tbf the RS do overspend on some truly appalling players that every man and their dog could tell would flop. Not one person outside of that club said £35m for andy carroll? All the stats back up the fact he'll prove to be worth the money."
