This is the most numb nuts transfer dealings at Everton since I can remember. Utterly had off by the Burnleys, Sunderlands and Swanseas of this world. No wonder they're queuing up to sell players to Everton. They know we have a couple of mugs willing to throw an extra £10M-£15M at them.

I think the price is nuts, but still waiting for someone to name a better player for our money. Someone that would make our starting lineup better. We are obviously going to buy a striker. We are going to buy another defender. But Koeman wants a play maker.

Brokovic could be had for probably 20M, Jonahthan Viera for 30, Mahrez for same price as Gyfil, Andre Silvia for 30M, etc. Don't think any of them are as good as Siggy. But it could allow us to buy a better Striker or CB.

I doubt the increase will be that much. It'll be along the same incremental increases we've seen for the past four seasons or so.

...so under the previous regime we would've seen the same spend as this summer and the significant hike in our salary structure? Even with the expected Lukaku monies I doubt that would've been the case. Indeed, the spend was largely made before the Lukaku income.

It's a bit daft to suggest we go out and spend the same amount again if the prime targets have been acquired. I know you don't like the club to be wasteful.
