Let's 'do really well' and find out. At the moment we finished 7th last season - which effectively ended on 7th January - and we've sold/about to sell our two best players.

That is where we stand at present.

Slight correction Dave...

In Lukaku, we sold a good goalscorer, not one of our best players and we've replaced him with Rooney, a far better player who also scores goals.

As for Ross... I love the lad and have always wanted him to reach his full potential with Everton, but sadly and for whatever reason... and NO, this is not an invitation for you to get back on your 'Let's blame Koeman' hobbyhorse... Ross seems to keep coming up short.

So what you mean by that is that we've improved on our standing from the past 2 years? Good of you to acknowledge that mate.

Also LOL you'll never be happy with anything Everton do lol

It's bull Lukaku moaned for a long time and wanted to go what can we do? Stones was not even the best defender let alone the best player. A defender can't defend and we got a great price at the time.

Look how many U23 players this club has signed over the summer. And Pickford, Keane, Sandro, Henry and Klaassen are all under 24. This club has invested in youth in view of making money in the future. What's wrong if we spend to sign 2 proven PL players in Siguardsson and Giroud to mix with the squad? They will give us much needed instant quality.
Yeah. Let's never ever sell anyone ever again ever.

Unrealistic especially when you have moaners (however talented) like Lukaku. He'll do the same to Man U in a few seasons.

You don't honestly believe that do you? That a player who scored 25 goals for us, and has just been signed for a fee in the region of £100m was not one of the best players in a team that regularly included Enner Valencia, Funes Mori and Stekelenburg? Have a lie down mate, you need it.

If he weren't for sale whys he valued at 50 mill? - that's right incase clubs want to sign him I e US. Wake up aye mate wake up
He isnt for sale. They have set a price they would accept reluctantly thats 50. For sale means they are actively looking to do business which they are not. They dont need the money. But lose the player , their best will probably result in relegation which will cost them hundreds of millions long term potentially. So........ the price is 50 but he isnt for sale.

Like neymar isnt for sale. But if someone coughs up 200 mil then hed be gone

There seems to be massive inflation on players prices within the PL, which is the market we are operating in to build that established platform and to look at proven quality. It will mean we 'overpay' but if it means we are in the top 4 running then it's money well spent.

We've sold Lukaku as we obviously couldn't keep him, he had decided to leave and the deal we got for him was what the club had stated, albeit in a roundabout way (ideally we would've got £100m in cash). We aren't in a position without establishment as a CL team to blow £75m on a direct replacement so the option is established PL or young unproven talent - which makes it hard to improve our net spend.

Koeman said said he wants goals across areas, GS will help with that, as will an out and out striker (although I think Sandro is an excellent signing), but there's time to spend at left back, CB and striker (regardless of whether we lose Barkley (who is definitely not our second best player)). But there's no need to panic, Walsh will work up a short list and go about finding them.

Read your post then come back to me again.

Mate he's for sale we will sign him and the fee if it's 50 or near will be what Swansea are happy with. Just be happy aye that we are doing this after years of shopping in lidl we are now moving on to M&S just be happy about it ffs

I don't/won't deny for a moment that Lukaku was/is a very, good goalscorer, but Davek implied he and Ross were/are the best two footballers at the club. For me, as an all-round footballer Lukaku was lacking.

I do not doubt either that if Untied play to suit Lukaku, he'll bag goals a-plenty for them too... but I re-iterate, as a footballer, he was/is far from the complete article.
