£40m Bid Made For Sigurdsson

Well Barkley and Niasse will defo leave. I can see another £35M-£40M from those two. McCarthy I believe will also leave. That'll probably see spending break even if a striker is brought in as expected.

The real figure should be what we do over and above a £20+M net spend...which is what we'v e done for the past three summers including those before Moshiri arrived here. My stated view from the off is that only if we're seeing a net spend this summer of somewhere approaching £50M can we say anything has changed.

I think we'll be way way off that.

Fair point.

I would say though that the last thing we want is to be QPR.
I.e. Mass incomings which cause friction / lack of fluidity within the squad.

If, after selling McCarthy, Niasse and Ross - which seems likely -, we are in the position of having to spend their money + greater than 20m, I fear it may be to the detriment and would prefer gradual growth - possibly in January.

Certainly understand your issues

Wow wow wow wow

Go and support a team that you actually care about you don't about this one.
No way on earth
Kenwright and Moshiri aren't Everton mate. They just associate themselves with the club - and both will become even richer than they were from that association.

OK, he brings traffic to your site, I get it.

lollollol

What nonsense.

Others have said davek actually drives traffic away...

He's tedious, so I'd be more inclined to believe the counter argument.

Still - understand traffic to the website doesn't bother me. If it goes up, it costs me more - I'd love to be back to GOT of two years ago which was 30% cheaper.

What I do care about is providing a fair platform to Evertonians - banning Evertonians for opinions we don't like wouldn't be a good precedent.

So if you're "offended" by davek's opinion, find another forum. We'll not be accommodating cry arses who cry "offended".

Which is why my position is and always has been we keep our top players and build on them.

What we see so far is a complete scorched earth policy from Moshiri/Koeman in terms of sell to buy. It looks dangerously out of whack to me for the reason you highlight there in bold.

I have a big problem with it: data tells you that only those who retain their best players and buy better to add to them get anything out of this league, Leicester notwithstanding.

We've heard this bollocks for years about wise spending and building the squad that way. It's just another line spun by owners who cant take us to the next level.

We've been crying out for a better business model for ages, which is what I see, certainly more professional, that is a foundation, a platform to build on. That has to create some enthusiasm surely?

the only player that he has sold, let go that we may miss is Lukaku but he wanted to go, all the rest were squad fillers that should have gone in the RM era

He's tedious

In what way shape or form is this a 'new' business model?

bit harsh! I didn't actually ask for him to be banned. I asked the question how is him unfoundedly slating the owner of the club in any way constructive, but if that is the line from the top then so be it. I won't question it any further.
