If siggy was our first signing, would he have cost more than 30-40m?..

Or is it because we signed a relegated goalie for 30m, and a bottom quarter defender for 25-30m etc that they deemed it much higher knowing Everton were seriously interested?

Interesting point this, we dont want to get into a situation where clubs know we will pay top line so they can hang back until they get it. However Keane I dont think we over spent on at all

Without him Swansea go down, hence them saying 50m or nothing, the only reason its gone on so long is that we didnt want to pay 50m, but like we did with Stones, Lukaku and others like Fellaini over the years, the power rests with the selling club, coupled with the TV money swashing around the league and clubs dont have any "need" to sell.

Keane had a year left, Burnley didnt have anything to bargain with, Sland got relegated, 30m is good money for a Keeper with 1 season under his belt, the only that doesnt make sense is Bolaise.
