Ok I know it's only the first game of pre-season, but after watching the match today, I tend to agree with you. Jags and Williams are another year older and watching them today, they looked it. It was even more apparent, when you saw Michael Keane.
We also currently have 6 CBs and 1 REAL Number 10, if Barkley leaves, we still have 6 CBs and NO number 10s.

At the end of the season we all said we need a GK and a CB
A lot of people on this forum pointed out Pickford and Keane as the best options , or at least very good options.
If we had refused to pay the 30 m for each player and went with lesser players for lesser money and told fans that the players were too dear what would we have said.
More importantly what would RK have said and the biggie what would @davek have said

Thats me too.
Like, if we had £50m left, (we dont, I know, but if), and we had to improve the squad, as it currently is, full back and centre half starters/cover is more pressing imo.
That said, the new Everton will probably do all 3.
Bit mad all this.

I'm not going to turn him down mate, I'm just trying to figure out where all of these guys play. At this point, I'm more scared of either Jags or Wiliams playing 35+ games at centre half than I am of fitting one more midfielder into a squad full of them. Even without Barkley.
