Due to the suspected imminent arrival of siguardsson, who do we think will be sold out of the midfield?
At present we have:
Davies, Schnerderlin, Morgan, Besic, Gana, Klassen, Barry and McCarthy.
As much as we need a large squad for Europe, we are overloaded with central midfielders. Who if any do we think will be moved on.

The list looks especially long when naming the same players twice...

Considering we tend to play with 3 midfielders further back we have:

Tier 1: Davies, Morgan, Gana
Tier 2: Besic, Barry, McCarthy

Unsure where Klaassen will play but as you can see we have the right amount + kids. Could probably lose one (McCarthy).

To be fair, the rebuilding job he had to do after clown shoes was even bigger than he probably envisaged.

The squad was in a shocking state and morally as low as it had been since we finished 4th from bottom under Moyes.

Such an overhaul of players was crucial.

What like stealing, beating up old people, not paying taxes, that sort of thing?

It'd make me happy if they spent our massive Lukaku windfall like they had a 'kin clue what they were doing with it.

Maybe if Moshiri's own cash was being used here some more stringent overseeing would be taking place.

As it is it's not out of his pocket and he's allowing some Dutchman to piss it all up against a wall.

Kenwright and Steve Walsh are doing the deals David, Koeman and Moshiri arent involved.

To be fair if we spend another £70m having bought in 2 or 3 more players and end on zero net spend I couldn't give a toss. We've lost Lukaku and possibly Barkley, the rest are utter garbage that needed moving on and the overall quality of the squad is still massively improved.
Sorry, cant see it.

Keane is the one that stands out like a sore thumb as a genuine good buy.

Rooney: he'll be in and out of the team; the rest are a punt into the unknown.

What Koeman has done is placed so far £90-m (minus the Keane cash) into a slot machine and we wait and see if it pays off.

£30M for Barkley; £20M for McCarthy; £10M for Niasse. And that to the £112M clawed back in so far this window and that's £172M.

£98M has been spent so far and two more are slated to come in; £70M will cover it easily (as long as they dont throw anymore down the toliet).

All that amounts to a zero net spend.

Nothing has changed. In fact, take that back: it will have changed...changed back from smallish net spends of the previous four seasons to no net spend....at best.

I do believe that is called 'good business', is it not?

Better than spending far more than one generates, and as a consequence paying gazillions to the bank(s) in interest.

It is in no way a rider as to the quality on the pitch, nor performance on the pitch. It is simply a measure of how one controls the accounts.

There is no charge to you, dave, for the above information... ;) :bye: :D

Time for Gaz Baz to go I think, he's probz on a good wedge that will help with FFP.
He's also n for Prem record of Apps so will look for regular starts at a lower level club

The fat Dutch long ball merchant has us bottom of the net spend league again lads after selling our Crown Jewels despite spending like a drunken sailor, complete laughing stock we are, Baines is a traitor, Jags is a church mouse, Niasse was forced on Martinez, 73 points, Lukaku is our best ever signing, nothing has changed
