Interesting read.

It's probably already been shared in here but I thought I'd put it in if anyone has missed it.

It basically explains that he may not be adding too much to our team for the price we'd have to pay.

I trust Koeman and Walsh over some football writer. Sigurdsson will give us some of the things we need badly; i.e. composure, vision, dead ball specialism, but not all of them. In this market he´s probably just worth the 50 mil, since you can only ever compare to what other players are going for, not the actual amount of money itself.
We still need pace up front and if we don´t get someone in with a bit a zip I´m worried we might be undoing much of the good work we´ve done this summer.

Another random thought.

The whole "only good at free kicks thing". Imagine what our 13/14 season looks like without free kicks, they literally saved our season that year. Baines x2 at West Ham, Barkley at Swansea, Mirallas against Villa. Gylfi comes in, him slotting four free kicks could literally be the difference between seventh and fourth.

And he's not just good at set pieces, he's effing unbelievable at set pieces.

Sterling and stones were 21 with huge potential. Sig is 28 next month.

His age doesn´t bother me at all. He´s at his peak. Something clubs who win things do all the time is buying ready made players at their peak. Buying young players and developing them is great from a business sense but I´d rather win something now. Just as an example Drogba was going on 27 when he joined Chelsea.

Beckham won Utd a significant amount of points each season with his free kicks.

I want quality players playing for Everton. Is he quality? Yes.

Welcome.

If course 50m is a lot, but then we got 8m for Cleverly, would probably get 20m for McCarthy and so on so it all swings in roundabouts doesn't it.

I think this lad is going to be quality and is another superb signing imo.

I think a striker with height ( target man ) just as another option and a left footed cb who is adequate cover at left back and we are done. If we could get a decent winger that's great but not an absolute priority imo as I don't think we will be playing 4-4-2 too much.

imo that will be a superb window

Just reading the sky write up on siggurdson about how much he actually contributes. Think I am going mad.

Do sky think we are going to play him by himself? That we aren't going to field another 9 outfield players who can potentially create or score goals?

Big fan of that. I want nothing more than to prove to Dave we are minted (which would be boss to actually know). If it's just balancing the books with sales and TV money he will be insufferable.

I would rather just watch him moan about us spending too much on players.

Cut yourself some slack mate. Why on earth are you so concerned about what he thinks? I'm quite confident and comfortable that we're minted. Look whats happened this last month....
