and? that doesn't include all the rest of the money that Scotland pays into the Union. Scotland gets out much less than it gets in that's why the SNP want to get rid of it and the Tories (and labour) want to keep it.
Do you mean oil ? Or maybe the Financial Srvices companies that said they would be off if independence came ? Or perhaps fishing and crofting.....

Hmm. We need to disagree here.

Plymouth Tory MP's office is covered in poo

Sure are some deranged people out there.

I reckon we can start getting used to the rioting that comes with anti-austerity/anti-Tory demonstrations.

I'm not condoning it like, I am all for demos without the disorder but I expect there to be plenty.

Ok not trying to be a WUM...honest.

I am trying to understand what is more important. The outcomes, or the method of travel.

Boris is clearly as far detached from yor average scouser as possible, but is also in the establishment, influential and doesn't suffer fools gladly.

If he could make a big difference is this more important than the fact that of who he is and what he stands for ?

Its just that these welfare cuts are worrying, I'm the only full time earner as husband cant work. Hope its just rumours.

I think he would be the wrong person mate. Don't know if you are old enough to remember but Michael Heseltine did a very good job (in the context of the Thatcher years at least) on Merseyside, so it is possible. However Heseltine was an "old tory" and he had some sympathy and empathy with the people of Liverpool, Boris on the other hand......

Good luck to them, it will be nothing compared to the sustained violence this govt will commit on society's weakest

if they had any sense they'd march to the more affluent areas first and riot there

the powers that be will let rioters cause mayhem to their hearts content in deprived areas, but when there's cars on fire in belgravia, then they might take note
