What a joke if true. We all know Nigel you run the party. No point in saying you're going to resign if they don't let you.

Personally, if I were a member of the Labour Party, I would be looking very carefully to see what women candidates there are. If this election has taught us anything, it is that the public seem to like the idea of a woman leader.

Surely the public just liked the best leader (or debater, public speaker), Nicola Sturgeon rather than the female leader.

Natalie Bennetts ratings weren't very good.

And the greater the capacity for Mrs. Tree and I to be able to bear the cost, as our savings grow and we both progress in our careers. As mentioned earlier, we are budgeting for one, maybe two children - both going through private education. More kids than that just means they would come out of private by the end of pre-prep. Possibly they might stay until the end of prep, if we're lucky, but the fees really jump up at senior level.

I wasn't aware that the age of the parents is a contrbutory factor in the likelihood of multiple births - very interesting! Nevertheless, Mrs. Tree is still 26, like she was yesterday. Still pretty young to be having kids.
Don't listen to them Tree. They're all miserable with kids and just want to fool you into joining them.

Well, currently we discriminate against non EU citizens. So for example an unskilled EU citizen currently has more of a right to come to our country than many skilled non EU citizens. Having a controlled immigration would be purely skill based.

"Say not to all immigrants" Is that seriously what you think controlled immigration means?

The control measures were to simply ban all immigrants for the term of a parliament.

Not sur
Labour needs to decide what it stands for.
I heard Blair call for Labour to "retake the centre ground" ........ Hmmm.

Not sure about that. Sturgeon's popularity was surely down to her being a Scottish Nationalist rather than being a woman. The loon leading the Greens didn't seem to engender any great popularity, and I can't see anyone being inspired by Yvette Cooper or Harriet Harmann.

Are there any realistic prospective leadership candidates amongst female Labour MPs who aren't tainted by any links to the last Labour administration?

I thought that was older parents needed ivf which increases the liklihood.

No, it's hormonal. It's basically humanity's way of increasing the chances of propagating itself. As I said, it has just happened to my brother and his partner, so I have been well versed about it.

Nik, the concern with UKIP wasn't having a reasoned debate about immigration, it was the fact that so many of their representatives were blatantly racist and they harked on about immigration to such an extent that you couldn't trust them. They didn't convince me and many others that there wasn't an animosity towards immigrants present and indeed prevalent within their ranks.

This is the sort of theory that doesnt really bear up to scrutiny - we have had one female prime minister lead the country and she was (and is) demonised far more than other prime ministers before or since.

I heard some idiot claiming this previously because they say no to all immigrants as opposed to just those from outside the EU. What's your line?
There's a certain amount to truth to that. Immigration should be based around the needs of the country. To discriminate based on where people are coming from can't really be argued not racist.
