2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

That's only @Eggs who thought he was the second coming of Kevin Ratcliffe!

….that’s true. We were desperately in need of pace and after a very good start (he got a couple of England caps) his form fell away. It was in one of those England games I immediately realised his limitations in possession at that level.

He was ok for us but not as good as I hoped.

I was 70% confident we would stay up before this weekend I'm 80% now. It could obviously all change in the next few weeks. But Ipswich are poor, Southampton are down and if Leicester get docked points we should be fine with a bit of breathing space too.

To be fair Ratcliffe didn't look great for his first few games, so Godfrey matched him for that bit :p

Ipswich are, as others have suggested, the new Luton.

They might pull out a decent result here or there, but their overall trajectory is clear.
Not according to some of our fans.

I remember when Southampton got a plucky 3-2 defeat to Liverpool and a section of our support were using that to claim we were the worst side in the league.

In reality we are comfortably better than the bottom 3 and shouldn't even be near the relegation fight. Dyche's management put us there this season, as well as a lot of poor performances and mistakes from the players.

With Moyes, hopefully he will pull us away from being discussed in the same category as the likes of Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich who are all terrible sides.
