2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

The league is a million miles from awful. A lot of good sides.
I agree. With the exception of the top one or two clubs and the very bottom, we’re seeing more parity across the PL. It’s a great league. It’s just that about 15 of the sides are all very similar. All have some injuries. All missing one or two pieces. The bottom has all the problems. And the top have none.

Southampton are so naive. Why do they persist fannying around from the back when they just can’t do it. Great having a philosophy and sticking by it. But may as well just boot the ball into their own net a couple of times a game. You simply have to do anything to survive the first season. Then worry about philosophy.
I think that was the gist of what Moyess aid in his first presser here.

Yep and it means the promoted teams are always so easy to beat on their home patch now.

Stoke had it right years back with their unique style. Get in faces and get it forward quickly and you can get 6/7 home wins which means you don't need to get that many points away to stay up.

Brentford have perfected it and never look in any danger of getting relegated now and Forest had a very good home record in their first season up.

Ipswich with one home win all season considering they have Delap is really poor.

It was good Leeds never won that play off final as they'd have been far more competitive at this level. Even in the championship they've attracted some decent loan players like Manos Soloman and Ramazani. And they'd have taken Harrison back.

Ipswich will drop their team is Championship apart from Delap and a couple of others, Mckenna has done well to make them competitive considering the lack of quality they have. He is a promising coach who will move on to bigger things but I think they willl go having watched them quite a bit they will struggle to get thirty points

So would you be expecting us to win that game then?
No I wouldn't, and don't expect Wolves to either
Chelsea have been a little flaky lately though and stranger things have happened
I still expect Che to win though.

I think it is up to us to move away from the relegation zone anyway. Forget about it and keep playing like today and we'll be well clear come May
