2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

I still want 40 points, I’m greedy, I know. But really, that’s 3 wins and 2 draws from the next 14 games.
I do believe that would have us end on 38 points Sir. Let's just win like eight from fourteen and end on 51 points. It might sound mad, but that's exactly what we can be looking at with the current points per game (1.7) ratio from Moyes' six games managed. I am sure we'd all happily take 1.5 or even 1.3 points average from the games tbh and easily get over the line with several games to spare.

We’re 10 points ahead of Leicester in 18th and 10 points off Villa in 8th.

It’s as absurd an idea that Leicester would overtake us as it is we would overtake Villa.

I’m not even worried about injuries, even though they are piling up.

Moyes just seems to be able to put a functional unit out there whatever he’s dealing with.
Yes, we might be dragged back a bit in a worst-case scenario, but you'd imagine we'll manage to cobble together a few more points due to defensive solidity and managerial competence.

We can get safe - for sure - within the next month.

If you consider the form table, catching Villa is more likely than being caught by Leicester.

Just focus on overtaking the 4 teams above us, and the rest will look after itself.

If we carry the same points per game ratio as we’ve had all season we’ll end with another 15 or so points. Leicester would gain another 10.
Whilst we have tough games in April we’ve also had Dyche for over half a season too. Would be surprised to see us deviate from that ratio with Moyes in charge.
BTW, if Leicester maintained their .7pts per game that would likely see us survive without winning another game!

So yeah, I’m still concerned 😆

3 more wins will do it I think. It's frustrating that the Ipswich and Southampton home games are in the last 4 games of the season rather than now. On one hand we should have players back by then but I'd rather play them when we are in a good place results wise than at the end of the season where there may be a bit of pressure because of our brutal April run.
