2024/25 Relegation Thread

Gap to Wolves is four points now and they have loads of winnable games in December.

I don't know but this feels like November 2022 and about to drop into the bottom 3 under Lampard.

Tonight was a dismal game, West Ham were terrible yet at the end Fabianski has made one save and Pickford is pulling off worldies to preserve a point so dosen't really fill me with much confidence.
Wolves have won 2 games since Feb one against already relegated Luton and the other at home to Southampton so not sure you can call any of their game’s winnable

TFG has to be make a big statement in January with significant investment in the squad. As long as we are not in the bottom 3 by then, with that investment we should be good this season.

I just think if Branthwaite stays fit we won’t concede enough to go down. If that back 5 plays even with a completely inept attacking force we’ll still get points.
Too risky. Injuries will inevitably kill us.

We need the takeover done and one of two things - at least:

New signings and/or a new manager.

But no new players and holding on to this old manager and we're dicing with death.

Alright but they have likes of Ipswich and Leicester in December at the same time this club is playing Arsenal and Chelsea.

Do you think the four point gap to 18th will be increasing or decreasing in December?

Have to be beating them at Goodison instead of being cautious.

I’m hoping the takeover comes in time so we can at least spend in January to bolster the attacking options. We also need some of the injured players back, Garner Chermiti Iroegbunam Broja would all provide options. There was nothing on the bench today to freshen it up in central midfield.

Wonder if they'll consider sacrificing JB in the January window for funds for a new manager. It has to be an open question at this point. Be hard to see TFG getting a new guy in and telling him to keep us up with nothing to spend.

But gap to Palace also widened to 3.

I know the frustration at performances continues to build but in isolation you can't really sniff at a point away to a team that has spent a hell of a lot more on that team than we have ours, even if they are off-form.

Wolves go to in-form Fulham and Palace to Villa next week so there is a big opportunity next weekend at home to Brentford. Now a very important game with the games that lie ahead in December.

Squad is not fit for purpose. That should be clear to everyone now, whatever their opinion of the manager. I've lost patience with Dyche, but I would allow him breathing space if I knew we could spend some money in January. The worst-case scenario, for me, however is we can't spend a penny and Dyche stays in situ.

We should have been 9 clear of the relegation zone going into a hard run of games but we’d have felt comfortable as the bottom three would not likely get 9 in those 5 we play in December but for out of a possible 15 is much more likely. Our general form is much worse than last season, there is some real dross this year and we’ve not taken advantage.

Need the sale concluded ASAP.

Letting Dyche influence our spend is a recipe for disaster. No other manager in the league tries to play for a point in almost every game.
