2024/25 Relegation Thread

it’s a bit of they shown you can attack and many football

plus we’ve had a easy run in except wolves who’ve had the hardest

we will be swapped with wolves by end of december
I don’t understand why some posters have gone from saying 12th to 13th best squad (or thinking well end up around those positions comes seasons end) to, we have the third or fourth worst attacking third players, but Ipswich who are mostly made up of Championship and League 1 quality players have amassed two points less than us but actually scored 2 more.

There is no way they have better attacking players than us yet they have marginally been more potent. McKenna by the way joined Ipswich about 6 weeks before Dyche joined us. They’ve also arguably had a more difficult start than us.

It genuinely feels like the goal posts are being moved to justify performances. Personally I’ve always said I was in and out with a Dyche, was a reasonably supportive but this year has changed my mind but some just seem to become entrenched in their positions.

They're playing a style that is getting the best out of Liam Delap. That is key. Just like Carloball got the best out of DCL for six months.

He hits about 12 this season and that could be enough to get them 6-7 wins, today was the first.

Evidence of a plan

It wasn't anything complicated either, just constantly getting to the byline and hitting decent crosses into the six yard box for him to attack. Repetition on the training ground and surprise surprise it works more often than not on matchday.

Also Hames in amazing form for those first 10 games of 20/21, basically a CF dream to play with a creator like that. Dyche wouldn't have the first clue how to get the best out of a player like James Rodriguez.

I think we will do alot better once we get players back fit also bring in some new players in jan. does not give the manager a pass for the results so far. But i do think things will improve with a more settled team

Who do you think is missing who is a first team regular under Dyche?
More thinking the center mid we could have bought in players to see the game out both garner and tim, plus the injuries we gmhave had in defence. As i have said does not gige dyche an excuse for the results, also imagine getting a winger in jan similar to ndiaye on the right

He never makes many subs anyway unless we're losing, so not sure if it will make a difference. Getting Broja and Chermiti back will certainly increase our forward options though.

Ndiaye isn't a winger, Dyche just plays him there because he can't see what's under his nose. He should be creating in midfield, not on the wing.

Agree with you not saying id play him as a winger but could definatley be played more as a wide forward. Like the rs do giving them more spqce to attack the box. With the fb being able to push up

Simple game really isn’t it mate.

Fair play to McKenna for having a go at teams and setting them up like that, we were a little fortunate to beat them.

We have players who could get to the byline, cross to the big man and the rest pick up any scraps if he misses and you could play Illy at the 10 where he should be, instead of wasted on the wing.

That even sounds like a dyche type plan and what I thought he would bring to us.

Instead we’ve got wingers who won’t get to the byline to cross, and want to come inside all the time or pass backwards, a striker isolated and starved of any meaningful service, doucure giving the ball away constantly, along with fullbacks who are fined if they go past the halfway line.

Boring, and he’s setting us up much worse than he did his Burnley team of cloggers.

Easy to suggest something that can never be proven. Ancelotti had the benefit of creative talent like Digne, Bernard, Sigurdsson, Rodriguez & Richarlison and managed to get us an underwhelming 10th.
