2024/25 Relegation Thread

Can't recall their keeper having to make a great save from all those shots.
They're shooting from outside the box when in good position to do something useful cos they have no idea how to actually create good chances
He made 1 top drawer save from DCL.. 99 out of 100 times that goes in..

They got relegated because they stupidly sacked Dyche mate, and appointed a novice. That was total stupidity.

This might sound bad, but I watched is at Burnley away that season, and it was obvious which players would be relegated. We massively dodged a bullet with that.
He was sacked after winning only 4 of 30 matches

The relegation was largely due to his poor results.

I can't think of many managers who survive a run of 4 wins in 30.

You get sacked for that in this league, in fact usually long before the run is that bad.
That's fair, but I wonder if that shows the stupidity of PL clubs. He had a lot of credit on the bank, and a track record of getting results later in the season.

This is slightly anecdotal, but I remember watching us against them, and I can tell you 99% of fans that day if asked felt we would go down not them. I thought we were down that night mate. I can't remember if Dyche was there then, but honestly they looked like a team behind their manager.

What are you on about? Their points per game went up substantially after he was sacked. Which was after a tame defeat to rock bottom Norwich. They were absolutely going to be relegated.

Which he always did with Burnley anyway, and they had easier fixtures too from memory.

Whatever opinion you want, the fact is, Dyche wasn't the manager when they were relegated.

I’m sorry WHAT are you on about?! They actually had an upturn in form after they sacked Dyche?! He’d won 4 games in 33  This is one of the strangest posts I’ve ever seen on here.

Oh great. So if we got relegated in 2022/23 I’m sure you would’ve applied that same logic and wholly blamed Dyche for our relegation, absolving Lampard because he was bad enough to get sacked before it was confirmed. What strange logic.

I wouldn't have blamed him per se mate, but we would have been relegated under him yes.

Like I think I said earlier, I watched is at Burnley in 2022/23, and honestly we looked like the team who would go down, not them. I genuinely thought we were down that night, I couldn't see them not staying up.
