When did they out play us though? Your hardly considering the league cup game going out on penalties as outplaying us with both teams making 8 or so changes to the starting 11

Indeed. Ipswich is the one. Their squad is what it is, and their tactics are what they are. They would have more points if the manager would bend his philosophy to match the low quality of his players, but he won’t.
If we can’t out play and outwit them them with our stronger squad and clear knowledge of how they will approach the game, I’ll worry. A lot.

if you watched that game, yes Southampton played their 2nd team and they had the ball for the majority of the game, bare in mind they have been terrible all season and probably one of the worst teams to come to Goodison in recent years yet Everton just played on the odd counter against them, it was embarrassing

We’ve had a terrible start and are still 4 points ahead of them.
I don’t think there’d be many Southampton fans wouldn’t swap their position over the past few seasons and now for ours.
Dyche can be criticised for not taking the game seriously enough with his team selection. Maybe had an eye on the following Leicester game with the injuries but think it's a poor choice to select a league cup performance to beat him with where both teams didn't have anything like their usual PL starting line ups. It be like criticising him on a performance if he had taken charge of a reserve game.
If both teams had even played with close to their normal starting 11 then fair enough he would deserve a lashing for such a performance.
There are plenty of games that he can be fairly criticised for but that Southampton performance isnt one of them imo.

We can keep saying this but if we naively avoid the reality of the situation we’re in there’s absolutely nothing stopping us from joining the whole host of illustrious names that either are in the lower leagues or have been in them. Whilst Villa and Newcastle fans may be enjoying life now there’s nothing that can remove the previous stain of relegation.
Getting back to the top of the game comes from investment from new owners and the improvement of the squad. It doesn’t come from us being over entitled and expecting to beat teams on the strength of our historical name.
If we play well we’ve shown we can beat anyone in this league. If we play badly though Luton beat us at home. Thats the reality of the situation until investment arrives, no one likes it but just saying everything is embarrassing or a disgrace when a team takes points off us isn’t going to change anything.

Just like last season need to start winning 2-3 in quick succession at Goodison and then it's comfortable like last year.
Fulham's a good chance now. Andersen got sent off so their best CB will be missing next week.
What a disaster from Southampton, probably be facing a new manager when going down there to play them. Can't defend at all at this level.
