2024/25 Relegation Thread

I don't think they are better. I don't think they will ultimately end up in a scrap either but sometimes if a bad start runs past 10 games the pressure grows on everyone and it's hard to shake off. Then you are into sacking territory and whether you get a bounce or not.

There is always going to be one side pulled in that nobody expects but then each year the promoted sides seem to be very poor but I'd fancy Leicester to stay up.
Strange one with Leicester because I went to the King Power the other week and they were easily the worst team we've played so far.

Despite the usual cryarses having already awarded Ipswich the Luton fc fabulous spirit award, they look dreadful and have too many players not anywhere near this level. They make so many individual errors it's not possible to survive.

First bit of daylight with the relegation zone.
I suspect if they keep McKenna, Ipswich will be one of those clubs who go down and then come straight back up. This season is almost like a an adaption season for them. The reality is that even thought they’ve spent a few bob, a lot of their squad are probably mid championship/League 1 level. They did amazingly well to get back to back promotions.

I'd like to think we're too good for this thread but I'll always be fearful with Dyche as manager. I think we've a difficult run in December we need to get some points on the board. Winning at Ipswich for me was a must win I think won't accept anything other than a win next week either. Against Fulham it's time we got a result against them.
There’s three home games in December where I would expect us to get or have a change of getting something (Wolves, Chelsea and Forest) so December for me at least is not quite the write off people are expecting.

The issue more generally that comes with tough months however are the games after them, where confidence becomes an issue and we unnecessarily extend winless periods beyond expectation. If we avoid the 13 games winless run this year we should yield a similar number of points as last season.

We are never to good for anything, as nothing is a Given. But i think we wil be around 14th ish. Dont think we will be in trouble this season, I was one of the rare few that thought we would be ok over the last few years, even when it looked so bad at certain points late on. But you can near enough always rely on us to pull it out the bag when we need it most. Saying that, beat Fulham and we are level with them, and some are saying they are having a great season

That's my feeling too. I think they have recruited a team of players who won't have particularly high wages and will likely stay with them for next season and will improve with this season under their belt

Chelsea are very good this season, despite are decent home record against them I think they are different now and will be a very tough game

I think looking at our points return we probably should be on 10 right now on balance for what we have deserved. I think it's still overall a bit below what I would have expected from the level of fixtures, I would have said 12-13 would be par. But hopefully we can go on a bit of a run now and make the points up.
