They can stay in their seats and do that.

WTF are they disrupting the rest of the fans who want to support the team for?

Some were dismissing my view a few days ago that this will cause a kick off or three. I think that's unwise.
Ok Dave, explain to me the part of them staying in their seats gets the message out loud and clear on global tv. This is a golden opportunity to get the message out there. The club is going to hell in a handcart under Moshiri, but, there is still a part of me that believes that if he is made to realise how his stewardship is fracturing the fan base and endangering the club, then, he may have a road to Damascus moment and become a half decent owner.

You can’t deny he is willing to put his money where his mouth is, he just needs to bin off his super agent mates, employ some qualified competent people to replace Brands, Benitez, Kenwright and Barrett-Baxendale and leave them to get on with sorting out the current mess.

Oh, and delete that appalling Jim White’s number from his contact list.

because the fans of the club he's plunged hundreds of millions into have started public protests calling him effectively an idiot. tonight is humiliating for him
If he wasn't humiliated after last Wednesday then I hope he is tonight!

Sorry mate, clearly, with regards to football and footballing matters on and off the pitch, Moshiri is an idiot. His doubling down and further backing to Benitez confirms it.

If this protest makes the man actually wake up and see that he's got a bunch of incompetents festering throughout the club at all levels, then it's worked.

If it doesn't, and he continues without further sackings on his present slapdash way of working, then at least we have tried something and we should again, until something gives.

If that's him selling up and fecking off (no chance before the new stadium is built, by the way) then so be it.

I've already said, if people want to stay in their seats on 27mins, sound, that's their choice, but seriously, don't be having a go at anyone who gets up and goes - it's their right to protest, however they see fit, and this is a great chance to get international coverage - a few banners outside won't cut it.

The only thing he will have to explain is why we’re crap, in front of the nation, live on Sky. He certainly won’t be slagging off the waiter.

Fans around the country will be watching and asking themselves, “hang on, so Everton fans are protesting against an owner who’s pumped £500m into their club in 6 years? Nobheads”

No one else cares, it’s just embarrassing for the club if this happens imo. Will Moshiri even be there? I doubt it.
The 500m wasn't Moshiri's $$$ you know? It was TV / club revenue also.

And the point is, it was spent horrifically.

Now we can't even buy players because of FFP.

And our owner is an accountant.

A massive banner - I even think staying behind after the game will be better than implicating the support for the team and those who want to watch the game.

Wouldn't get anywhere near the global publicity. Most people switch the TV off at full time, especially in a night time game.

And staying behind late after 10pm on a monday isn't practical either for many

There are lots of ideas, none wrong or right in all honesty, but I think it's better to support those who are trying with the best intentions rather than criticising. The "just support the team" argument is a load of nonsense these days. We've sold out every away game for about 2 decades, and GP is full every week with 32k season ticket holders. We have supported the team through thin and thin and it has made not one slight bit of difference. If anything, that support has been taken for granted. Normally support should be a two way thing, but there hasn't been anything in return. Last Wednesday was the final straw for many. We shouldn't have had to go through that humiliation.

Been a few of them lately mate, this was the last home game.

so you're full behind a strategy of humiliating the person to whom the club is completely beholden. And if he thinks 'bugger this' calls in his loans, and tips us over a cliff that will have been worth it cos at least then we will have brought about 'change'

Those with a brain will be asking how you can spend 500 million and end up in this mess more like

The one thing that confuses the heck out of me are the people like dave who think an entire wholesale change is needed but "protesting isn't going to solve anything" and others who think "you should turn your back to the pitch instead of walking out".

Ok? Why not have people protest any way they want? The club really is in an extremely precarious position right now. If you think it would get the point across more to turn your back, do it. If you think it would get the point across by walking out at 27minutes, do it. Why not have others stay in their seat and protest too?

To quote the great Rush, "if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice".

It's not confusing mate - some people are contrarians.

I've said about @davek in the past...

All you do is go against the consensus to argue the point. Your stance is boring and predictable.

As I've said in the past, if you was American you'd flip flop between republican and democrat depending on who was in power.

No matter the issue - he takes the minority view, entrenches his position and doesn't allow his opinion to be changed.

Before we appointed Benitez, I could of told you dave would be his biggest advocate despite slating him for years on here. It's what he does - argue for arguments sake.

Fans of other clubs are definitely not thinking that, I can assure you. They think we are a total laughing stock.

And why are people even remotely concerned about what other fans think. Who cares? We just got embarassed by our near neighbours at home with their fans singing our manager's name. That's what embarassment really is.

Present Squad

Good enough:

DCL, Doucoure, Richo, Pickford, Gray

Adequate

Digne, Townsend, Keane, Godfrey, Allan, Mina, Gordon (has potential), Delph (maybe), Davies (just about)

Delph and Davies as subs.. great isn't it?

The Rest:

Sell immediately ALL excepting potential youth development.

Permanently Unfit: Gbamin, Gomes, Tosun
Not Good Enough: Siggurdsson, Holgate, Kean
Terminally Useless: Coleman, Iwobi, Rondon, Begovic and other keeper, Kenny

I rate only 5 of our squad anywhere near good enough, a further 8 or 9 adequate and the remaining 12 a waste of space. This is a terrible indictment of the present set up.

Nobody takes any notice of banners and as for staying after the game, what does that achieve, neutral viewers have mainly switched off, gone out, or, are watching another channel as soon as the first adverts come on after the game. From here on in, any protest has to be clearly visible to the widest possible audience. Let our owner squirm as his scatter gun approach to running the club is brought to the attention of the wider football community.
