Please don't suggest he re-mortgaged his house - that myth was blown years ago.
There's no evidence that he has ever invested any money into the club.
And if the 'personal sacrifices' that you refer to relate to his health issues in recent years, nobody would deny he's had problems but, it's not like he had them for the benefit of the club... so respecting his health conditions were and maybe still are serious is quite right.
However, his stewardship of the club has been little short of calamitous.

I will bite a little anyway - his time at the club has been the worst spell in the clubs history on the pitch and he’s made an absolute fortune. There’s not a lot more to say than that.
