#27 Years/NSNOW/#AllTogetherNow Fan Campaign

Posted this in the board thread bus as my ego is as big as Kenwrights I'll stick it here too.

Said it for a long time, the 27 campaign, the Blue Union and others before them..... Proper Evertonians who just want better than what's being dished up. The stick they get for trying something is ridiculous. Honestly? I don't agree with their matchday strategy at Goodison but I guess I'm more disruptive than they are.

They actually believe our motto is something worth striving for. The fact it's really hard to be competitive in modern football with rules designed to protect the 'top teams' shouldn't prevent us from working to improve in every possible way to get closer to all those teams teams we've fallen behind.

Our board is stuck in the past, led by a sentimental old fool who is worryingly out of touch or just plain deluded. (delete as appropriate) Moshiris biggest mistake (and there's plenty to chose from) was not launching him into Liverpool Bay on day one and installing actual business professionals to protect and grow his investment. There's clubs in the National League with a more clearly defined strategy than Everton.

They should be ashamed of themselves. The 2nd best paid board in the league and and continually languishing near the bottom. Unable to properly support the manager because they have broken spending rules that everybody in football is aware of. Crowing about 'club record' commercial deals with companies linked to our owner with absolutely zero input from our commercial department.

High horse preaching about betting sponsors only to go cap in hand to another once Putin decided to invade Ukraine. Utterly embassing.

Yet people defend them. "What about Everton in the Community? Thats something to be proud of!“ Guess what? We're not the only club to have a charity arm. Without digging I'd wager a few others does similar levels of great work as Everton. We only hear about it because Everton has very little else to shout about. The charity arm and the stadium.

The stadium? Absolutely NOTHING to do with this board. Don't ever forget that. This board, this chairman LIED to shareholders over Kings Dock. Money was secure, 'Ringfenced.' It wasn't, he even turned down the offer of money from a fellow board member because it meant good old Bill diluting his grip on the throne. God knows where we'd be now had we moved into Kings Dock around 2006/2007. He then listens to 'friends of Everton' who whisper sweet nothings into his ear over Kirkby. "Effectively free", Goodison can't get a safety certificate, we have to move. He was going to relocate us out of the city, our city as the senior club and turn us into Wigan. An afterthought where nobody gives a toss.

"But he's an Evertonian!"

If he was he'd have sold and stepped aside years ago. He's had opportunities but as with everything else.... Bill comes first.

Fans who support him? I feel sorry for them. It's tiring trying to explain to them. They'll never get it. They have the Everton they deserve.

The rest of us should fight for it. Put aside whatever thoughts you have about people involved in the campaign (all good Evertonians by the way, so that's weird in itself) and support the message. You have absolutely no right to piss and moan about how crap Everton are yet mock the 27 people for trying something.

The time for Change was when Kings Dock fell through due to our chairman's ineptitude and egotistical behaviour. Still, better late the never.
This, 10 times over.

It's as much an exercise in flexing how they're the real blues saving the fanbase as it is pushing for change at the top.

Shame really as every single fan can see that this board is incompetent and in dire need of binning, it's a real pity they decided to form a little secret society that further splits a disenchanted fanbase.

From personal experience I don’t think that is the case.

There will be fans who will second guess this group at every opportunity, repeat question after question hoping they make a mistake, deliberately undermine any who are a part of it and support it, try to shame with them with “Kopite behaviour “ and the new one now that has worn dry “shameful to all Evertonians”.

I can’t prove this, I suspect there has and continue to be people who are pally with folk at the club , people who have been a part of supporters groups, often seen in the suites with the meals and drinks before/after games , people who are pally with the communications team and will also make an effort to undermine any sort of “disruption “ or “noise”.

For what it’s worth in my opinion if people don’t like how they go about it, suggest something else, bring something to the table that could perhaps have a bit more unity.

Just read the letter.

Pedant that I am, DBB became CEO in summer 20218 - therefore this is not accurate:

In the near seven years since you acquired your initial shareholding you have persisted in
retaining the current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

The impact of a letter such as this is undermined when a simple fact as this is not proofed properly.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any blue who's satisfied with the way this club is ran.

There's a way to capture the feelings and sentiment of all fans, it's not done through secret meetings with a select group of super blues (some of which don't even partake in any of their organised protests cause they don't live here!).

I hope we win a trophy before 20218.

Well the fans advisory group are, a representative said so on Sky Sports during the summer. I know fans who spout the same “just get behind the team” shout , refusing to acknowledge any major issues.

What would you do , in terms of capturing the feelings of the fans?

The board is a nightmare, most people agree. When you start claiming that people who don't see things the exact same way as you are 'part of the problem' and 'get what they deserve' then you alienate a huge portion of the fanbase and lose a lot of potential support. This is such a blindingly obvious point that you'd have to be monumentally stupid not to understand it, and yet time after time the people running these things fall into the same trap. It's a quite incredible piece of ongoing self sabotage.

The 27 campaign should have respectfully raised these questions through the FAB who have been elected for these such particular things.

Those questions look like they've been asked by an 8 year old on Going Live. Business dictates that some or most of that information remains confidential. 'What's Mr Moshiri's view on ownership?' Give me a break! He's already given you the public version in July. He's not about to tell everyone he's desperately seeking other investors or we are going to be on skid row now as he? To do that undermines any negotiations he goes into to try and act from a position of strength, which would then work negatively for us as a club and thus the fan base as a whole. The pointing out we were the best of the rest before he turned up is just crap as well as we were already flirting with the lower part of the table due to the fact that we lost steady Eddie Davey and everyone else were getting cash rich.

I would like Kenwright gone as much as the next man and FWIW I think that will happen within the next 2 years anyhow. As soon as the stadium is open he will be gone by the end of that season.

Thinking that this grand gesture does anything is laughable, it's alright to chase your owners out if you are self sufficient (a Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal) or if you know there is an owner in waiting that is happy to splash the cash on success (A J.Ratcliffe etc.) and then there is this, the equivalent of picking up the broken down bus and throw it over the precipice, as at least it is now moving and there is always a chance we could land on something soft...

Ideally we need the stadium up and running, with a sponsor so we have a bigger income then we can kick off. Until that point, we have to all be united, like we were the back end of last season. Take our eyes off the pitch and put heat on the board and all it does is give the players an easy way out, the manager gets thrown under the bus and then how many are left that see its a viable project or just an easy payday.

What do you expect given the abuse they take? Its bound to cause frustration at some point with a person. What about the people giving them abuse, how are they any better. I don’t see it.

Some of the things they have had said to them in the past, condescending and obnoxious to say the least.

I didn't say the people abusing them were any better? You getting abuse from person A does not mean that you need to take out on person B, again this is not particularly complex stuff.

I never said it was complex. I said it was bound to cause frustration to a person or persons at some point. And people talk about the conduct of this group when the conduct of some fans opposing it is highly questionable.
