15m for Begovic - if we have 15m then we have it for a keeper, no? He is definitely in the top 5 keepers in the league and yes whilst it would need a huge outlay to get him, divide that sum by the years we will get out of him bearing in mind he's only 27. What's the alternative? Stick with Howard? Stick with Robles? Buy a keeper who's cheap but yet needs 2 years to acclimatise to the premier league?
23mil for Deulofeu - I'm not sure what to say to your response when you haven't given any indication of what you think he would go for. We are talking about one of Barcelona's most anticipated breakthrough players. It's not been great for him at Sevilla, granted, but it wasn't great for Barkley at Leeds was it? The point i'm making is that there is no way he would be sold for under £20million in my opinion. His buy out is £30million for starters, he's still a kid, and is immensely talented. There would certainly be a buy-back option too.
Ings - The question is, if I had a transfer kitty who would I buy. I didnt think i'd have to actually conduct the negotiations mate. He's on a free, the tribunal won't say 6 million because they never do.
Young - Whilst I did admit that I didnt think I would have many backers in that shout, I think it's funny that - in the season that we are having - people like yourself still naively think we are too good for certain players. Certain players, further, that have won leagues. Don't you think this season there has been a lack of winners in the team? Phil Neville was a winner, albeit a not very technically gifted winner. Tim Cahill had a never say die spirit. On top of that, we have been CRYING out for some creativity on the left hand side this season. Someone who can cut in and make a chance or put a decent cross in. Ashley Young, if we could get him for 5-6 million, would improve us - surely that can't be disputed? Whether he is the player you want or the romantic name/nationality you'd want is another thing, but we need better, more creative options next season and Ashley Young would fulfill both of those.
I am not that particularly bothered about Young, it was just a suggestion based on what we lack and how much i had left to spend in my imaginary kitty.
Baines at CDM. He's played there, he looks good, he has vision, gives Garbutt/Oviedo (more pace) the opportunity into the team and lastly all of the other centre midfielders have been poor for most of the season apart from Besic who we have all seen can't play as a two with McCarthy.
