Wouldn't agree with him either but that's the calibre we will be looking at, Cleverly and Young joining the long list of United reject's to come to Goodison.
If Cleverley and Young are the standard of players we're after than we're aiming for mid table at best. Fair to say, I expect better and confident we'll get a better quality of players in during the summer.

yep, everyone knows after 1 bad season in the league a team decides to lower it's demands to aim for a top half finish ha. we won't start shopping for mid-table players just because of one freak season in the league. we've been a top 8 team for years and are currently EL Quarter finalists.

did man united start shopping for players who would help them finish 6th or 7th after last season? i know finances are different but we're not going to aim to bring in 6 or 7 cleverleys and youngs because of this season.

Cleverley, free.
Ashley Young, 5 million (I expect criticism for that one).
Deulofeu, 23 million.
Ings, free.
Begovic - 15million

To me its a given that Kev is leaving so I've used the 15 million he would generate too

I'd then line up like this

Begovic
Coleman Stones Jagielka Garbutt
McCarthy Baines
Deulofeu Barkley Young/Cleverley
Lukaku

Ashley Young ain't so young
Derby would only be £10 mill (only 10 mill - like that's not a lot of money!!!)
Inge - why?
Begovic is Robles but already ours

I don't hold the same optimism anymore, we had a great chance to attract top player's last summer on the back of a 5th place finish. Can you see top player's wanting to come to a team that will finish below Stoke.

Still confident we can attract quality players to Goodison. Of course this season won't have helped in that aspect, but don't think one season has undone all the good work of previous years. Think the philosophy of our manager (who I still think will be good for our future), will be vital in convincing the right players to join. If Mirallas leaves for example, we should be looking to bring at least someone of equal quality in to replace him.

I keep asking this: what happened to knoberto's Spanish and south American gems?

I was convinced we would have em lining up on saturdays by now...

Kiev aren't that bad.

Really? He will only have one year left on his contract in the summer, I don't think Palermo are in such a strong position at all. There is no way any team is willing to pay that much for him with these conditions, unless he extends his contract. Imagine if we replaced Mirallas with this fella! I'd run and hug the 80 year old neighbour lady.

Circumstances might change then with his deal running out, but either in the summer or in January, the Palermo president stated that it would take a silly offer to sign him, I'm sure he said over €40-50m?!

I'd have to look the articles up but I definitely read it cos Chelsea were linked to him at the time!

Sorry, never normally rude but I would be devastated by all of that.

15mil for Begovic!! Yes he's good but we don't have 15mil for a keeper.
23mil Delofeu? SERIOUSLY? THIS HAS TO BE A WIND UP.
Ings - would never come here when he has UTD and the RS on his case.
Young - just a huge WOW!
Baines DM with James - DO WHAT??

Sorry but that is close to the worst post and line up I have ever seen on here.

It is a wind up pal. I'm sure Deulofeu as a release clause close to £10m.

I'm sure at the time we signed him on loan this was stated IF we attempted to sign him outright, and since going back to Barca he hasn't signed a new deal or anything and increased his release clause.

Deulofeu is having it tough at Sevilla, he's in and out of the team but we know what talent he as and what he's capable of and I'm not so sure he'll have much of a future at Barca so I'd love us to be in for him as he'd be class for us!

The hype surrounding Gerard Deulofeu continues to grow in the aftermath of his excellent equaliser for Everton at Arsenal on Sunday.

In Barcelona they were tremendously excited about Deulofeu and this has gone up a notch in recent days, since the goal at the Emirates.

On Wednesday, El Mundo Deportivo report that Deulofeu’s release clause at Barcelona currently stands at 35 million euros.

All players that come through La Masia reportedly have the same release clause and Deulofeu’s was agreed when he signed a new Barcelona contract last summer until May 2017.

El Mundo Deportivo add that Deulofeu’s release clause of just 35 million euros could be a worry for Barcelona in the coming months.

Whilst Everton would be unable to pay such a fee – unless they were to reach the Champions League next season – the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea would all be able to pay this price for one of the hottest prospects in the world.

Finally, El Mundo add that Barcelona expect Deulofeu to be part of their first team squad in 2014/2015 and see it as unlikely that he will stay at Goodison Park beyond this campaign.
