Yes.

I think that press conference was aimed at us, the Evertonians....we needed to hear our great white hope pledge his allegiance to the cause.

We needed him signed on a long term deal.

I am confident now the Lukaku deal will come to fruition.

But....er....we might need yet another 48 hours lol

Give it 18-24 months and it all starts again

Made up like but the circus that we have seen today to announce a current player signing a contract has drained the life from me

This is up there with the "Get on the OS at 12pm for massive news" to find out we had sold Rodwell

Keep the faith, but as we know a contract can easily be broken, a press conference should be for a big star outside player of significance IMO

.....I suspect its not as cynical as you suggest. I think they would make this announcement regardless of the Lukaku situation.
