6 + 2 Point Deductions

Can anyone explain the differences between what Everton have done and what city have done?

Why were city not handed a points deduction immediately like we were? Do they just have better lawyers?

I’m guessing the latter..
City also have influence on a government level through foreign diplomats, their punishment affects the brand, we are theperfect lamb to sacrifice.

We definitely have a choice in this.

Agree they are making an example but we fight this 100%. Yes we accept we should have a punishment but we do not accept point deduction, we take ut as far as we have too at every stage.

Then we stat up rub their noses in it and build from there.

We absolutely have no choice but to fight it.

What I meant was we would have no choice in the size of the punishment.

One of the banners, if it's not a Sporting advantage then why a Sporting deduction ?

I thought it only got brought to light last year. Didn’t realise they’d been gunning for them for that long.
I have heard of a leap year, but the prem took two years - that should have been the start of our defence on a legal principle - It is like your boss trying to deduct your wages - or sack you two years after your Trade Union had found you innocent ...... & they agreed ....

That's the principle of it full stop - any legal beagle should have had it thrown out before the inquiry took place IMO ....

Press seem very surprised at the size of the deduction despite the rumours which had been swirling.

One thing I did note is that they (the journos) are all calling for City and Chelsea to be treated with the same vigour … although Henry Winter speculates that nothing will be handed down to City for at least two years as the PL are already backs to the wall with the array of lawyers City have employed and Chelsea may never be charged as it was “self reported” and under another “regime”

Anyone else not surprised?
Not in the slightest.

The PL will be working harder on their narrative to explain why they couldn't do City and Chelsea than they will on the actual cases against them.

Post from an Arsenal fan on a music forum in their 'General' section which has a long thread on '2023-2024 Club Football':
'The Everton points deduction is an interesting one. It seems the Premier League now officially doesn’t like Russian billionaires.

They used to like them, back when London was the #1 location for Russian criminals to launder their money. But England has now banished these baddies, so we have to boo them, and freeze their naughty assets.

What a relief it is that we have been able to replace the filthy lucre from the Russians with more delicious dirty money pouring in from Middle East countries!

What a pickle the league would be in if they’d finally located their moral compass and ousted the Russian billionaire criminals, but didn’t have another endless source of ill-gotten gains to grease their wheels.

Phew!'

A brilliant summation of what we think about the middle East money now being invested in certain Premier League clubs...

The money has been filthy for a long time.

It just seems now they get to decide whose dirty money is okay and whose isn’t.

They haven't had any hearing yet. And won't for a long time, if at all, because their lawyers will do everything they can to delay, complicate and create an insurmountable body of work. Part of our mistake was being too transparent and too cooperative.

City's charges are not only bigger in terms of quantity, they are far more serious breaches.
