6 + 2 Point Deductions

We have an absentee landlord so our vote means nothing.

The fella who originally posted that 'TheLawyerCSmith' has got 244 followers so i think we can pretty much put that in the absolute bollox drawer. No way would Everton be supporting a club that has been cheating for years and is dodging 115 charges when we were docked 8 points for just 2 charges.

I like the idea of clubs seceding from the Premier League and joining the EFL. Create a new First Division with an aim to promote sporting fairness and sustainability, for the benefit of the entire football pyramid, and not just a handful of clubs. Hard to see it ever happening.

probably not but for me, theyre the ideas the league should be striving for.
If we all get on board with the idea of some shell company no ones ever heard of can sponsor a shirt for $1billion, the league dies.
I agree and it's what the fans should be pressuring the club for. Just because the landscape of the sport is effed beyond belief, doesn't mean we should throw out all of our morals and saddle up with nation-owners. I think it's wrong to continue to allow more and more corruption into the club just because Man U is shady or because Newcastle got the Saudis.

I'm reminded constantly of how well the fans' voices are heard in Germany, and it's because they stand up to the rot coming in. They don't capitulate in order to grasp at the scraps of the clubs that have already been overcome by it.

I really will give up if City get their way on this. Honestly, what will be the point? The game will be stripped of any lingering sense of romance or competition. It's on life support as it is.

The time to do that was the other 14 quitting the PL to join EFL at time of ESL. Instead the scab 6 were begged not to do it.

Now Everton are backing one of them to ruin the game even more.

Got to remember Kenada that at the time of the WC Moshiri only wanted investment not a full sale. Now he wants out completely and there is more stability at the club in terms of having survived the points deductions / the stadium nearly financed hopefully some further interest appears in the coming period.

Personally I dont believe we'll get dream new owners but hopefully we get at least someone very wealthy who could make a difference if FFP was eased in some capacity.

Another Usmanov type character but with the foresight to put in place a clever chairman to run the club would be marvelous.

None of this will happen when the big 6 want all the pie to themselves. I also dont believe Government intervention is the answer either.

Remember.... Manchester City's owners have colluded with the British Government and Boris Johnson forced through the PIF takeover of Newcastle. They are no less corrupt than Masters & the PL.

The thing is that these financial regulations come from UEFA. They introduced them in a reaction to stopping the influx of new money teams coming in to the establishment - PSG, Monaco, City etc - eclipsing the Real's and Barcelona's.

The football leagues then started to implement their own versions to stop the exact same thing. The issue with the PL rules is that they were written on the back of a beer mat and never thought through, hence the ever changing rules forced by the clubs.

City aren't taking the PL to court for the good of the game or other clubs to change the rules, they're doing it to build a defence of their reputation based on the charges. They did the same when UEFA kicked them out of the champions league by delaying and taking it to the highest court in sport that they could.

If City get some kind of victory it won't mean the PL suddenly open the doors and change the rules. It'll just mean City got away with the rules their broke. The PL will continue as normal.

And we've been guilty of it too, USM's naming rights deal was as bent as they come.

Every club has done something unethical from a business and fairness point of view. But it's the level of investment and impact.

Usmanov floating a one off £30mill deal is different than him paying £30mill a season for sponsorship. He was also unofficially not tied to the club. It's like the PPE contracts during COVID. Tories give it to their mates.

2011 City signed a £400million 10 year sponsorship arrangement with Etihad Airways. The biggest at that time was £90mill for 15 years with Emirates and Arsenal. Etihad are owned by the Abu Dhabi government. Citys owner is part of the Abu Dhabi royal family.

City have then gone on to win 18 trophies in 13 years. 8 league titles. Are now the biggest commercial club in world football.

Big difference.
