6 + 2 Point Deductions

I hope the City case brings about huge changes to the rules. Man U have huge amounts of debt, but seem untouchable? How?! The rules aren’t fit for purpose clearly. It sucks that we were punished the way we were, but it would be nice if we able to spend big in the future, without fear of being punished. If a clubs owner has £ to spend, why shouldn’t they be able to spend it? It seems like only the most successful, with the biggest revenue streams, are able to spend big. And we aren’t in that position at present, and might not be for some time yet. The antics of self entitled Man U grind on me much more than the rule breaking of City tbh. The whole thing stinks, changes are needed to make things more competitive again, and punishing City won’t necessarily make that happen.

The rules are fit for purpose, for the purpose of the big 4 or 5 to continue to monopolize the premier league, European football and anything resembling a trophy.

I'm more bothered about the remaining case hanging over us (to do with the accounting treatment of some interest payments). I wonder when that will be heard? It's all gone very quiet on that front.
Because the pl has no clue...our accounts were cleared by independent auditors, so it's the pl choosing to be picky and applying their own interpretation of stadium loans. They have no chance on that one, and the fact it is dragging tells the full story really.

And we now have new owners will will litigate their asses should the PL try...

Thinking about the investigations into City, I wonder how in-depth they’ve had to go into individual employees financial affairs. If they’d been paid off the books, via foreign companies, were they paying the right amount of tax etc. Any issues with City may not necessarily end up with the club, it may extend to the employees

….we got a 10 point deduction last November, as we’re now well into December I’d be hoping they’ve done their sums by now for the relevant accounting period.
They changed the period for submitting accounts . I can’t remember the seasons but the 10 points were for 21/22 I think , then we had to submit 22/23 by 31st December and got hit with the extra 2 points deduction. So I think clubs have to submit 23/24 accounts by 31st December and any punishment comes early 2025. Mind you that could be a load of ballcocks.!

That is true. But by all accounts we supposedly think we are ok, but it would not be the 1st time we may be wrong. but the one we are still waiting on, will have a knock on effect if we are ever found gulity.

Yeah they appeared optimistic in June/ July that we were under the limit. I don’t know when they will decide on the outstanding issues on whether interest payments for BMD are or are not allowed.

As someone said a few days ago, if they have already been audited on independally and we were given the ok. It seems the Prem league or whoever are trying to find things that dont exist

Amazing that this is still a thing, since they announced that, Leicester have gotten away with PSR on a technicality, Manchester United losing money hand over fist and being allowed to write off standard business expenses to keep out of trouble, If we cant fight off a few million in interest payments given what's gone on since then we deserve to be anal fisted by the PL.
