6 + 2 Point Deductions

I reckon they've just realised they can't afford either the scrutiny or cost that comes with hounding their own clubs.

It was over £100m last year in PL legal fees wasn't it, I bet they didn't expect it to be anywhere near this as clubs would just accept punishments. I reckon a few clubs will have had a quiet word to PL that they are not prepared to see their share of the cash reduced in this way again.

Still only the Times reporting it and other news outlets saying we are hearing... no official statement from the EPL yet.

Not that I am expecting anything..

Wonder if the Friedkins will go after the PL for previous PSR deductions? Can they? Is it even worth it?
Why would they ? The previous luvvie owners admitted they were guilty and accepted the deductions, not sure there's a case for Friedkin, maybe if the previous luvvies had been a bit more ruthless and didn't roll over to get their belly rubbed by Masters and co

United bent the rules:

As did Forest by issuing 7.2 BILLION shares:

This is all above board. The level and amount wasn't until the rules changed about owners debt being exempt from calculations...so now they're upping everything to make the balance sheet look good.

Which is the issue with PSR. There's no solid foundations or rules. You pay a good accountant, you'll get round it.

This is why I can’t be mad at the entire thing, it can be managed appropriately with someone with smart financial acumen such as Chelsea, now now UTD and Forest.

PSR was meant to be a measuring stick, it’s difficult to use a measuring stick when another manufacturer can make a bigger stick.

We have/had absolutely useless financial people at Everton and got bummed for it, we got hit cos we were not smart. It does my head in - but that’s the facts, we didn’t even bother to fight dirty.
