6 + 2 Point Deductions

Re Richi sale - No, the point is, Spurs (or others) may well have spent 80 on Richi. The fact that we were being investigated and lots of bad press a out our finances (eminating from the PL directly or indirectly) meant that Richi, potentially went for less than he would have done, it we werent being investigated. If you see what I mean.
as much as i want to blame Levy for this... are we honestly saying if were in the same postion we wouldnt have taken advantage? pretty sure we would have. So i dont blame them. We did this to ourselves.

I think they did bring the rule where by that members of the pl cannot sue each other on the back of the west ham sheff utd saga. I think the smart Alec's are saying that Southampton, Leeds or whoever it is are currently not members of the premier League. They are EFL members.

If they did sue a pl club, and then they got promoted to the premier League, would the premier League let them into the league?

Apart from all this, there's one obvious reason why clubs like Leeds and Southampton in particular CANNOT sue us.....3 teams get relegated, they were 19th and 20th, so both would have been relegated no matter what we had done
Just guessing but the bottom 2 clubs might sue for loss of prize money but that’s only about 1.5m per place

Will be interesting if our judgement (along with other issues) can properly unite the Other 14. Yes, our punishment might benefit some other O14 clubs in the short term but in the bigger picture it shows the PL’s priority is to service the needs of the B6 by putting and keeping the O14 in their place. If as Miguel says the majority think our punishment is unfair it’s because they know it could be any one of them next.

The O14 should be bringing up the ESL at all opportunities. With hindsight they were too afraid of losing the B6 and too forgiving of their failed plot. It’s time the O14 properly stood up against them.

Sad thing is, I don’t think the 14 will unite behind us.

Hope I’m wrong, but the continued talk of getting sued by a number of clubs makes me think otherwise.

Your spot on about the ESL and the disgustingly weak punishment that was issued to the scabs - every club and especially Everton should be name dropping it every chance they get.

The Everton statement (for obvious reasons) said that they can make no further comment until the appeal has been heard.
Has there been ANY comment from those responsible (who are no longer employed by Everton) i.e. Barrett-Bexindale, Ingles, Sharp et al
Anything? Not even a whisper?
Too busy counting their compensation perhaps. 🤷‍♂️

Was just about to post similar.
It’s hard to know which stories are made up/hyperbole and which aren’t.

I can’t see many clubs having much sympathy for us in such a cut-throat business. Only reason I can see, is other clubs won’t want the same happening to them if their finances ever get questioned.

probably taking a holiday on Usmanov's yacht....

Interesting chatter about the Big 6 plot and lack of penalty and perhaps this galvanising the “Other 14”. It got my memory banks whirring and I seem to remember a push to restrict relegation from PL so the Big 6 could never be relegated. My memory says that they tried to bring Everton and Soton into the push for rule change, but we said no

Am I making this up ?

To be fair we looked guilty from the off and when we claimed losses of 170 million due to Covid when Villa documented 50 million and Arsenal said 80 million I thought we would have got pulled in then but somehow got it signed off.

The excuses we put up like Spurs signing Richarlison for 60 million instead of 80 million being a factor was poor to say the least.

Agree with that Richarlison not £80, but maybe a few million more, but seriously why is the Siggurdson claim not mitigated? We could not play him, could not sack him or sell him, who knew this would happen, we lost an asset, for what turned out to be a serious accusation, that had to be mitigating but was judged as not. So lost out on £10m, still had to keep paying his wages.
The more important one, the War in Ukraine, you could say we were the most affected club in the whole Country from that, we lost major ground sponsorship and we also lost training ground sponsorship, that alone was £18m to £24m per year, how was that not mitigating ? That was out of everyone's control, but affected us financially the most. Definitely had an agenda to get us and make an example in my view. Okay our club lied, about some things and we were guilty of a breach, but with them mitigating circumstances, definitely not as much as they are accusing us of. But the punishment far exceeded the crime, most people, pundits and presenters are agreeing with this. Sorry about the essay and of course the War was about the loss of life and suffering, but it has to be mentioned in our case. If you think I'm wrong say so, no problems with that, I might not agree though.

yea some of the mitigating factors were definitely poor and probably better off saying nothing on them
Ukraine war and direct effect on sponsorship due to government sanctions was probably the best one

Even still, though we are guilty, the punishment doesn't fit the crime imo
