Honestly the mad thing is, most of the people who caused this issue aren't even here now.

It's what really grinds my gears to be honest.

They changed the rules recently mate that all proceedings have to be finalised in the same sporting season as the charge, my guess will be in the Spring.

It got my memory banks whirring and I seem to remember a push to restrict relegation from PL so the Big 6 could never be relegated. My memory says that they tried to bring Everton and Soton into the push for rule change, but we said no

Quite an interesting read about what it needs to avoid relegation. Effectively saying 35 points generally does it as does 11 wins - obviously 11 wins needs to be higher for us

That’s why fan protests need to focus on reputational damage for the PL rather than any all together now Everton won’t die stuff. The PL only care about the currency of their reputation, they need to be consistently and continuously embarrassed on the world stage as pay back for the damage to the Everton brand they have done worldwide.

To my mind the client journalists they're bleeding out their message to suggests they've hated the fact the general punditry have seen their punishment as harsh and they want it shut down. So they've handed out a lot of threats to Everton that we'll be liable next year to points deductions in order to send out a message to veto in particular: "get those fans of yours to pack in any protests".

...and I think you'll get some fan groups like FAB quietly towing the line on that and attempting to reel in those protests.

t tjis point I think Ild rather stand up to the PL and take the consequences - even if it means another dose of their rubbish justice or we have to sell another player to get back into a safe place on FFP.

You're quoting the EFL rules. The report says it was wrong for Everton to refer to the rules of a different league so quoting them is pointless.

A deliberate breach to gain a sporting advantage and accidental breach therefore gaining a sporting advantage are not the same thing.

Hang on they quoted them when considering the appeal. Just more evidence of them tying themselves in knots and making it up.

Hes part of the small counter revolutionary force on here who are attempting dampen down the sense of injustice we have with this ruling and punishment and who want us all to STFU and swallow it all unless the PL bogeyman comes around again to smack our arses.

yea some of the mitigating factors were definitely poor and probably better off saying nothing on them
Ukraine war and direct effect on sponsorship due to government sanctions was probably the best one

Even still, though we are guilty, the punishment doesn't fit the crime imo

That's what we need to focus on at the appeal, how severe the punishment is.
