6 + 2 Point Deductions

It's a nothing story but it's based in truth.
It's not a nothing story mate: it has substance and not just because of the reason you;ve outlined already. Its a something story because it's part of a PL media fightback against our club and fans. They've been stung by the pundits who overwhelmingly have taken the view that we've been harshly treated here.

I regard that as something rather than nothing.

General advice:

RESIST THE PL CLIENT JOURNALISTS AND THE MESSAGE THEY'VE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO HAMMER HOME

RESIST THE SHILLS ON EVERTON FORUMS LOOKING TO BE 'REASONABLE' ABOUT THIS JUDGEMENT.

Was just about to post similar.
It’s hard to know which stories are made up/hyperbole and which aren’t.

I can’t see many clubs having much sympathy for us in such a cut-throat business. Only reason I can see, is other clubs won’t want the same happening to them if their finances ever get questioned.

Burnley and Leeds are both owned by American investors. If there is money to be had out of us (which would ease their own financial concerns) you'd imagine they'll try their luck, the wider sporting context probably won't even register in their thinking.

Saints and Leicester, goodness only knows.

Resist the messaging of the PL shills on here. Be aware that they're operating across all Everton forums to undermine the sense of injustice we all rightly have.

Don't fall for their arguments that there's anything understandable or deserved about this points deduction...because it isn't.

I don’t understand why people think you have to pick a side between the club and the league. It’s obvious that we’re in this position because of our idiotic cowboy of an owner, but that doesn’t mean that the scale of the punishment we’ve received is right and fair. Why people have to make everything a black or white issue I don’t know.

As mad as this sounds, I've prevented two new accounts from posting today which were akismet (anti spam) flagged in our moderation queue. Both defending Premier League

Well said mate.

We know we’re ran by cowboys and idiots, and farhad and bill bollxed things up big time, but points deductions from this “independent” commission is a pee take.

The talk of our owner being too wealthy to allow us to just be fined is absolute cobblers - how many other teams have just been fined?!

Even the ESL scabs just had to pay a “donation” - they are the wealthiest clubs and owners in the world. Not even sure they’ve dropped any money yet either so that was all for show.

It’s the wharraboutery from this kangaroo court throughout the report and the points deduction to placate the most corrupt government in uk history from setting up independent regulation that we should be railing against.

Everton and Evertonians are collateral damage.

We can and should go after our own owner again after the club is sorted on this matter.

When I first heard the news I thought we would get it reduced at appeal. But now it's become clear to me what the procedure is. I'm not so sure at all. They'll just get in a new commission and they'll conclude the same. Then that's the end of the road for us.

I mean, this is all a bit crap and that, but just seen some fella tweeting Barclays to cancel his bank account for their association with the PL… and… err… OK?
Don't know if I saw the same tweet, but I saw one saying he's going to cancel, and 10s of thousands will do the same.

Think he might be overestimating the latter.

I don't really buy that - it's just low-hanging fruit to me.

The Times needed a story that was different and threw it forward. Everton's accounts, like every other club's accounts, will be looked at and audited by the PL in March next year. That will be for the 3-year period between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2023.

Everton are well in the clear when it comes to transfer fees in that period and will have cut down massively on wages, as the report states was the one accepted mitigating factor this time around.

But it's a story that's come out of nothing but is obviously based in common sense.

In the short term maybe. But you can’t convince me that the long term plan wasn’t to have a 20 team Super League that they would play in instead of their own domestic leagues. NFL style, no relegation, endless money circling between the same clubs forever. What would they have gained by staying in the English football league? It doesn’t make any sense why they’d have wanted to.
Deffo. With fixtures taking place in America, Middle East and Asia. Greed has no bounds.

Saints and Leicester get promoted, their best chances of staying up is by weakening us. If we stay up this season that is.
