6 + 2 Point Deductions

The scab 6 definitely didn't want to leave the PL .

They wanted their cake and to eat it

They wanted to be part of the so called ESL and PL.

In the short term maybe. But you can’t convince me that the long term plan wasn’t to have a 20 team Super League that they would play in instead of their own domestic leagues. NFL style, no relegation, endless money circling between the same clubs forever. What would they have gained by staying in the English football league? It doesn’t make any sense why they’d have wanted to.

Those 6 didn’t want to leave the Prem - but they would have fundamentally ruined the integrity of the competition and made finishing in the European positions a complete irrelevance.
They would have ended up playing reserve sides in the Prem to prioritise their cash cow super league.

And they got a mere slap on the wrist for it.

The big six never actually wanted to leave the Premier League did they? I thought the plan was to leave Uefa and set up a new European competition to play in alongside the Premier League?
Even if they wanted to stay in the Premier League it would have totally devalued the product. There would be no European places to play for. The competition would play second fiddle to the new Super League. The leagues global pull would be diminished over night.

Davek, 'infer' is not equatable to guess or estimate, a perfectly solid conclusion can be inferred from something. The report is definitively stating that a sporting advantage is inferred by the breach. They're not saying there might be one or might not be one, they're saying there is one. It is perfectly sensible to take from the report that the advantage is impossible to quantify, so that will be on our side when Burnley and Leeds come sniffing.

There's no use in the 'working for the premier league' suggestions, this is just what the report says. I fundamentally disagree with it, but I think it's definitely worth the fans being aware of what Everton are up against and not saying things that are clearly untrue.
They know they're dealing with intangibles and unprovable cause and effect. That's why they have to infer.

Did Everton spending a lot more cash handing them an advantage theoretically over clubs like Burnley who couldn't spend? Yes. But if you go down that road the whole premise for the PLs competition unravels fast: because we know there are 2/3 clubs in this country who can spend like there's no tomorrow and Everton cant match that. So I and every other Evertonian can rightly say that I infer that their ability to do that hands them an unfair advantage....so how can they move on us like they have if that advantage stands?

That is the madness of FFP.

Its unsustainable and cant be policed rationally...and that's why they've brought in an 'Independent' commission to hand down a complete injustice to one club: Everton.

If this could go to the Court of arbitration for Sport the PL would be laughed out of court. They know it too.

Did they pay a settlement or did the Premier League said they did is the question people should be asking.
You would think they would have to declare it (for FFP). :)

Seriously though, each of them should be checked, including the date (probably in the last few days :D).

Resist the messaging of the PL shills on here. Be aware that they're operating across all Everton forums to undermine the sense of injustice we all rightly have.

Don't fall for their arguments that there's anything understandable or deserved about this points deduction...because it isn't.

Was just about to post similar.
It’s hard to know which stories are made up/hyperbole and which aren’t.

I can’t see many clubs having much sympathy for us in such a cut-throat business. Only reason I can see, is other clubs won’t want the same happening to them if their finances ever get questioned.
Exactly - they will be thinking phew it’s not us, and cleaning house now so that they don’t get done, so they don’t really give a stuff, even though that’s incredibly short sighted and we should all be sticking it to the league.

The faux sympathy from the telly clappers is making me sick.

They are rubbing their grubby little hands together after we got hit for 10, hoping and praying city and Chelsea get similarly punished, aligned to the vast scale of their supposed transgressions - that’s all it is.

There are some reds that are genuine in their support, and feel it’s way too harsh, but most are loving our predicament, and I think that goes for a large number of clubs.

Which is exactly why they would’ve just left eventually. What would be the point in them staying in the PL if they were just going to play the reserves and the games were meaningless?
