6 + 2 Point Deductions

There’s a conspiracy theory that suggested we would get a points deduction and that this was an attempt by the premier league to show the government that they were capable of managing their own affairs and did not need any further regulation or governmental inference. The government are non the less determined to crack down on the PL in particular what they see as poor / irresponsible business practice. They will establish a separate committee or body to deal with matters going forward and there will be no further points deductions after the Everton case with the others being dealt with by way of fines, suspended fines and transfer bans.

Who even knows, but a lot leaked out before the points deduction was announced and would anyone be surprised if the Chelsea and City cases went on to be investigated by a new body with defined sanctioning powers that did not include points deductions.

Ultimately, desperately poor and reckless mismanagement at the club has lead us to this point.

Punishment will be reduce on appeal, especially when it is seeing as a very harsh punishement. It always does...as long as the appeal process is independent from the premier league. In any case, win against united and we are out of relegation again. I would still appeal and sue the premier league if appeal is not successfull as even if we stay off relegation, we will lose money based on our finishing position on the table.

based on that formula is should be 9 not 10 points then

we breached the rules by 19.5 mil not 20 mil. Its 1 additional point for every 5 mil over the budget. If we had breached the rules by 20 mil then it should be 10.
Interesting that there's no cap on that so if a club has overspent by £300 million they would get a 66 point deduction

The findings seem to suggest the club mislead the league on the issue of capitalised interest but I do not follow their argument as laid out.

If the league, as it states, makes no allegation of dishonesty, then I do not see how a charge of failing to act in good faith can follow.

In essence....they're saying we've not lied.... we've pushed their rules as far as they could go (ie took the mick) and feel upset by it

Lol
