6 + 2 Point Deductions

I hope you're right Mike. Personally, I see it as a long shot. I;ll be amazed if get anything reduced.

I believe there's a certainty to the PL and their flunky commissions and appeal panels and they want us to struggle all season and preferably get relegated.

They want our head on a pike staff as proof they get tough.

If we can get this case to a court of law we win. If we cant then we're getting precisely f.a. from this appeal.

I think they care more about their brand than us getting relegated. And they’ve been taking pelters from all angles over this, don’t underestimate how much influence media figures like Gary Neville hold. Our legal team have them bang to rights in court as well. There’s no possible way they could justify upholding this imo.

Come on then please explain how are legal team have them bang to rights.

I think it will have to be confirmed either way in the next couple of months. The later it gets, the more unhappy the other teams would be if we get some/all of the points back.
They'll know that the teams in the relegation fight with us our counting on us being unsuccessful in any appeal. For that reason they'll knock Everton back.

The more I think about it the more I'm seeing the pitfalls of an appeal: at least with a definite amount deducted our players cant get hopes up of others coming to our aid and therefore not being as intense.

We won't get any joy from an appeal and the indecision in the meantime will lead to us not being at the races in some games...then we'll suffer from the disappointment again with an appeal failure.

This looks a real danger to me.

With a bit of luck the Government step in and set up an independent regulator and the PL is heavily audited, their corruption is proven and is them that are taken to the cleaners. Doesnt mean we will get off scot free though - we should still (rightly) be punished, bit with something appropriate like a 12 month transfer ban.

They don't care about that. The circus will roll on.

Cant stress enough the importance of Luton getting f.a. against Brentford next week. Arsenal and Man City should take care of them for the games after that in the short term.
In the next 3/4 games we must be at least on the same points as them, then the rest will take care of itself, what we cant do is let the gap get wider.

I genuinely believe our league position at the appeal hearing will decide what punishment we will get, we need to be fighting as if this 10 points is going to stick.

I mean, in one way this is a better position than we've been in for the last two seasons:

Burnley and Sheffield United are gone. There;s no way they'll spark and ignite. They are terrible. Those two will be like Norwich from a couple of seasons back or so.

We just need to overcome one more team and we're safe. We;re obviously a better quality team than Luton and Bournemouth for two.

My big nagging doubt is our players' mentality now. It's ok talking about how united they all are but if Luton stretch out to an 8 point gap next week I really find it hard to believe our players won't suffer a collapse in morale.
