Coincidence its the same time we are in a spot of financial bother.

Indeed they are. New rules on accounts, new rule on some interest payment thing, new rule on same season penalties. FWIW, I dont think it is an EFC centric PL vendetta, we just happen to be the the club in the here and now when the PL are trying to stave off a regulator.

That said, if it was one of the cash cows, well, I think we all know how that would finish.

Not sure if its just us, but the PL want to be able to punish clubs for bad stuff in the same season, hence the early accounts.

Rule E.48 …. Any PL club who is forecasting losses must submit audited accounts to the Premier League by 31st December. Clubs not forecasting losses must submit accounts to the Premier League by the standard 31st March deadline

Exactly mate, at first i never bought into the corruption thing i thought it was just more bias than corruption, but with each passing day and rule changes it absolutely reeks of corruption!

I've said it before once they've finished with us, there will be a new set of rules and regulations that puts City & Chelsea in the clear, 100% convinced of this.

I think its more self preservation from the PL. But being prepared to can a founding member of both top divisions, etc etc etc, is a stupid price to pay when the chance of a regulator is (imo) remote anyrate.

Tbh I know we are the first, but the other 13 clubs, will be in serious danger as well. They want a chasm, where the top six will always be thd top six, its az simple as that. So thd bottom 14 clubs will still have to sell their best players each year to the top 6 to stay within the rules.

They literally announced a new regulator in the King's speech, and I believe Labour and the Tories both want it

To be honest, this makes sense (for all clubs).
Let’s any hearings potential deductions happen before the season end, and there can be no whining from half a dozen clubs about compensation.

I think the way they have handled our case has made regulation quite likely

On a scale of 1 to 10, politically, a footie regulator is probably below 1.
