6 + 2 Point Deductions

Not nailing anything next year.. with the hullabaloo over not punishing fans from politicians and people involved in football.. future punishments will be financial which will suit the PL as they won't have to take points from 2 of the scab 6.. I expect most of if not all of our points deduction to get punted, then a motion put forward for voting on, to bring in financial penalties for breaking financial rules.
Unless it's someone outside the scab six. Like us

That PL lot have got themselves into an almighty mess on this.

They're skewered.

What are their options now? I mean are they really going to see us hit with the biggest deduction in history and then before City have to face the music drop FFP and judge them by another criteria so the nightmare of titles being taken away can be avoided?

They've been exposed as not fit for purpose.

They must be looking at the industry reaction to our criminal deduction and be 'kin bricking it.

I mean that if true and 1 single law firm has its mitts into a case of this size and is indeed on all sides, it is making an utter killing in billings.

I mean, I dont see how that ethically can be true, but then things like this dont normally have anything to do with what is ethically correct.
Oh. I thought you meant that they were all reading from the same script: hit Everton for shock value and give the impression they could clean house but then row back after an appeal.

I do find it amazing that it's the same legal firm that is representing us, the Premier League and the clubs that are looking into suing us.
its entitrely normal practice... there are only so many chambers that can do the work, especially at this level. Happens on a daily basis in most courts. Nothing to worry about they are always entirely proffesional.

I dont see why people keep comparing us to City and Chelsea, the cases are nothing alike.

We made a minor judgement error, we are led to believe that City and Chelsea committed what amounts to actual fraud over a large number of years.

I just want to make the distinction, nothing else to add.

I know. But the point is made that this lot are going to have to do something outrageous to avoid the consequences of their own actions toward Everton.

They're a mess. We;'ve made them look what they are: a completely clueless set of chancers who have simply panicked over external oversight and thrown us under the bus.

We'll be here long after the PL has been dismantled and another organisation takes over the top flight.

Masters is 'kin toast. He knows it. Sheepshanks would never have let this happen. He was an odious corporate toad but he was a poltiiicain who'd avoided all this.

Since we've been 'found guilty' is the 'clock' now reset?

It doesn't seem right that we could suffer another 10 point penalty next season based upon a rolling 3 year financial exercise. Seems like double jeopardy to me.

Its a massive overreach and I can only imagine they wanted to send a message.

I can only assume its their intention to hit us hard and then shave a bit off after an appeal and hope we pipe down.

Which, depending on the shave, I can honestly see happening, it depends, I suppose we all different ideas about what punishment we deserved, so its a tough 1 to gauge.

Not a bad idea for a poll.

Look, I doubt there are many who feel we deserved 10 points, but there are certainly a few, me included, who feel as tho we took the piss and we do deserve some kind of punishment, what punishment, I dont know, a slap on the wrist, dont do it again, we can all agree that 10 points is miles away from that.

I don't believe we deserved any punishment because I can see FFP for the con it is: a trap for other clubs outside the cartel to fall into.

Everton spent their own money. So what it was £19M over the completely arbitrary figure they pulled out of their arse?

We are innocent.

Well whilst I agree with the concept you are selling, the fact remains, we broke rules we agreed too.

I personally feel we should be quite grateful that FPP exists, otherwise, I really dont want to imagine a world in which certain teams had the ability to spend what the hell they wanted and also, my God imagine if we were allowed to spend what we wanted and THEN Moshiri bailed.

But anyway, we broke the rules, we should be punished, as I say, a slap on the wrist would have been fair for what amounts to a pittance of a breach and technically, barely even a breach, just a minor grey area.

Yes, but it's restraint and cements an elite already established.

If we lived in a world where there was a salary cap and some form of restrained transfer market that could even out the disproportionate power in the PL then FFP might make sense. As it is its just a giant barrier to clubs like Everton. FFP was designed to beat down on our club. That's what's happened. Job done...but they'll regret this big time.
