6 + 2 Point Deductions

Yeah even from our neutral perspective, they have been so hard done by this season

Little side point, it might have just been one Wolves fan singing it and would have heard it at the London Stadium! Jesus that atmosphere is turgid! Countless empty seats at 3-0, disgraceful.
That's because it's a soulless venue that should have been reduced to a 25,000 capacity athletics stadium until Boris Johnson stuck his oar in and lumbered the taxpayer with a £750 million bill and left Newham Council paying West Ham to play there for 99 years!!

True, but you can still sit in your seat until the 90th plus minute and sing the spirit of the claret and blues or something, especially at 3 -0, no excuses there. Elijah Wood would be spinning in his grave if he was dead.

It’s a proper thing that now isn’t it. Walking out when the opposition scores a third is unacceptable, you should stay and suffer. Although it’s understandable. But the streets outside the stadiums, particularly in London, are full of home fans celebrating and scarf waving after 82 minutes when they have the game sewn up. Obviously they collect their billions of £ either way, but the players must think “Oh cheers. Your welcome.” High fiving each other in an echo-chamber. Rushing home from a game you are physically at to beat the traffic home and watch the highlights. Good times.

We will all be singing from the same Hymn sheet on the 30th of this month.

You just know the reduction in points deducted will be just enough to keep us out of the CL places, which will be a bizarre turn of events, but not out of the Everton That realms of possibility
And we miss out on maybe 5 million in prize money from the PL for finishing 9th instead of 4th and 30ish million for missing out on the champions league..
#profitabilityandsustainability.

Not based on anything but the rightful cynicism we should all look at the PL with, but I think it'll get reduced to 5 or 6. A reduction that they think will placate enough people to appear reasonable, but still "harsh" enough to give the impression of them taking things seriously.

Absolute cowboys, the lot of them.

I think it'll be four back. That still puts us on 20 though, which it took us until 18th February to get to last season.

It's a tough one because I can fully see them changing the rules to suit their favourite teams that means even if teams broke many more even more important rules and gained huge amounts of sporting advantage, they'll still get a lesser punishment than we did.

If I was confident that they wouldn't change the rules, I'd happily see us withdraw the appeal and have our case and outcome be the precedent by which all other cases are handled. Yes - incredibly harsh for us, but also going forward for every single team and the likes of City and Chelsea 100% kicked off of the league. And 5 and 10 point deductions becoming the norm for several teams every season.

But there's no chance of that.

I just hope they don't add anything like a transfer ban onto us and give us back a few points that essentially count for nothing, as all is this year's hard work will be completely undone and we would be relegated next year if we lost Harrison and cannot add to the squad. It will have ended up some kind of 5-fold punishment that ran from 2021 to 2024.

Make no mistake, the Premier League will be looking at all of the above and deciding how it leaves them with regards to punishing City and Chelsea, which is absolutely not what they ought to be doing when this case is solely about Everton.

Corrupt to the core.

IF we get some or all the points back, the teams we leapfrog will kick off bigly as they will miss out on a few millions plus get thrown in to the relegation scrap (although if they have any nous, they would factor in some or all the points coming back).

PL have really messed up and the only thing that they can realistically do is to tell the appeals panel not to re-instate the points

Nobody would get thrown into the relegation scrap by us getting 10 points back? At worst they’d move ONE place down the table, they’d still be as far away from the teams in the relegation places as they are now.

The further away from the bottom 3 we get the more sense it makes to give us the points back. I don’t know how some people’s’ brains work to come to the opposite conclusion.
